Where around here is that? Never seen any of that in NOVA/DC or MD. |
My best friend used to live in Alexandria near Huntington metro. Her next door neighbors had a confederate flag, proudly displayed. |
...you think your friend didn't see these things when she looked at the house? Is she buying the house sight unseen? If so, I'd comment on that, not the Trumpiness of the neighbourhood. |
What century was that? |
Lawn signs about Trump in 2022 indicate Trumpers infestation. |
This happens in the best of neighborhoods too. Here in Mclean there is a house with Trumpy lawn signs but it's just a one off nut job - not the whole neighborhood. |
| We should probably just segregate into housing tracts based on political leaning. And make laws keeping out those who aren’t like us. 🙄 |
| It would be weird for my friend to comment on such a thing, I’d probably look at them differently for being judgmental about where I want to live. |
hey i'm not opposed. LOL |
Right?! This op wants to bring back segregation and thinks it’s ok, I don’t understand. |
OP here, that was not me posting about Conferederate flags. I don't think that'sthe case in this particular neighborhood. It is not in the DC area. It is in a large city in the northeast. I think the neighborhood is basically a White middle class neighborhood. What I have read is there are a lot of Trump supporters and anti-maskers, as well as Blue Lives Matter flags. I have read that the schools are not friendly places for students of color. Which is probably the case for a lot of schools even non Trumpy ones. My friend and her husband are White so that may not impact them as much. I do hear the demographics are changing but there are news stories within the past year of Trump supporting groups from this neighborhood. |
Oh, sorry — I’m the one who posted that but I’m not the OP. Those are just “Trumpy” things to me. |
Literally read the OP again. You don't even have to read the whole thing, just the first sentence. |
If you don't actually have first-hand knowledge of the neighborhood, then I would keep my mouth shut. Your friends can google the neighborhood just as well as you can. And if people are flying flags or posting signs, your friends can see that as well as you can. If your friend asks you, sure, mention what you've seen or heard, but otherwise, if they cared, they'd do their own research. |
And you don't think these are obvious to anyone with functional vision? MYOB. |
