that is a very “trumpy” block even if it is overall really not a “trumpy” area/neighborhood. find a way to nicely say something to your friends

Dear OP: Oh dear lord, please get over yourselves.

When we moved in, one of our neighbors approached my wife and I (mixed couple) to introduce themselves. It was all fine until they paused and whispered: "by the way, you live on the........ republican street......."

It remains one of the cringiest interactions we've ever had in our neighborhood.

Now, turns out they were right; quite a few military families lived on our street. Officers. Would not reccomend, just not for the insane reasons they had in mind. Turns out they're all pack rats and fill their garages up with.... stuff.... and park their four cars on the streets instead of in their garage and driveways.
