Oh I'm fine with her quitting. It's the whining I have trouble with. |
Her hair looks fine, the cut especially is great for her face shape. The teeth are atrocious and always have been. |
This series is strange. The women seem to be out of the 50s. They wear fancy day dresses to cut veggies in their kitchen, none of them seem to work out, and they are into smoking. |
I am. Woke-ified TV shows and movies want you to believe that all parents with a trans kid are like YAAAAAAS NON-BINARY KING OR KWEEN I WILL USE YOUR CORRECT PRONOUNS AND NEW NAME PERFECTLY FROM NOW ON. Charlotte and Harry had (imo) normal concerns and were more angry about the school not telling them. |
I agree with this. And it’s perfectly normal for good parents to mourn a bit during the challenging transition. |
Honestly asking: can you provide some links to media sources (not blogs or entertainment “news”) that “wants” parents to have an “excited” reaction? Please post a few links that aren’t editorials. I mean, you must be able to find examples of this to write this, correct? |
I think they are asking the right questions. My DD had 2 friends at 12 change their name and said they wanted to be boys. It turned out to be a phase and they are back, at 14, to wanting to be girls and going by their original names. Of course some kids know they want to transition and know it young, but clearly some kids are experimenting and that is okay too. I thought it was a reasonable approach from the parents. |
Agreed. At an age where even radical experimentation is normal, it's important to keep an open mind but also be prepared for any number of phases that will come to an end. |
I think they should explain it if just even in a throwaway sentence or two because as it is the whole thing is weird in a not a good way. OR maybe as someone said earlier this is the writers trying to skewer "woke" parents? |
Here's my question: How did Davis land the role way back when? She is an atrociously bad actress. |
Friends with Darren star. She was on Melrose Place |
Here is my random question. Did something about Carrie’s hip surgery cause her to contract a raging UTI? She gets wakened from her hap by the Miranda/Che shanigans in the kitchen, and is understandably mortified. If I were her, I would want to hide under my covers with my fingers over my ears! But instead, she just HAS TO PEE RIGHT THIS SECOND OMG SHE CAN’T EVEN HOLD IT FOR TWO MINUTES…. What is that?? Is it supposed to be a side effect of her painkillers? My husband has had two quite serious back surgeries with all kinds of heavy opiods, and this peeing issue was … not a thing.
I guess it did make the scene kind of funny, though, along with the “this is awkward!” music. I thought the kitchen scene itself was very hot. (And wrong, messed up, troubling… but still hot!) |
I can’t watch this show. I am not interested in stories about gay people, non-binary people, transgender people, or stories about micro aggressions. They are boring! |
Okay? I think you're not the target audience. There are a lot of othere shows -- and other threads -- though. Maybe you could go over there? |
Was thinking the same thing! Why couldn't she just wait a few before trying to get out of bed? Only explanation is that Carrie is so self centered and what she wants to do, everyone else has to follow immediately. |
