How "need" is defined at Bullis: "we NEED a high scoring attackman." Under this Head, Bullis has given out athletic scholarships under the guise of financial aid by the bushel. They are not alone in the IAC in this (although also not true that all league schools do it), but right now they are probably the most aggressive/egregious. |
|
Bullis added 6 football transfers this off-season. All of them are junior transfers. Kinda ironic.
|
| Does it occur to any of you people that your obsessive tracking of high school boys and posting about them on this anonymous forum makes you appear rather creepy? Grow up. |
| Some kids transfer for better academic experiences, to play with a better high school program/coach or to have a better chance at college. Although much recruiting these days is outside of the high school and based more on clubs and summer tournaments/camps. Others are blatantly recruited and given money when they don't need it. Bullis has been doing this for several years. The transfer from Charlottesville has already been accepted to UVA. I don't know his reasons for moving to potomac, but Bullis is taking things to a whole different level in the IAC. I feel badly for the kids who have put in their time there and just want to play lax for their school. |

They will eventually get kicked out of the league for several sports. Its really only a matter of time before the other schools will just cut ties all together with them.
|
| 14:39 Sour grapes and completely ridiculous. |
The above was written by someone with little knowledge of the history of the IAC. And no understanding of the current realities. The IAC has expelled GP football only twice. And then let them back in a few years later. Sidwell left voluntarily in the 1990's. If the IAC threw Bullis out and Prep went to the Catholic League, then what happens to the three remaining schools? Or if the two Virginia schools left to join an an Northern Virginia private school league, then what? No school is getting thrown out of the IAC. |
| Bullis' addition of the STAB player solves the how do you deal with the loss of Trip question. Which leaves the other big IAC question- how do the Bears deal with the loss of their FOGO. The answer should determine whether Bullis is number 1 or 2 in th IaC (or the country, really). |
| Prep will never join the WCAC unless they adopt an A or B division in all sports. |
|
The STAB transfer is far from Trippi. Trippi is not replaceable. The STAB kid is a very good player, but has played against mediocre competition until now.
I still think Landon wins in 2018 or maybe even Saint Stephens. Bullis will be loaded in 2019. |
| Fake news. Landon had the greatest DMV team ever in 2017. Many top players return although Landon has no transfers. Look for the Bears to repeat as IAC champs and contend for another national championship. |
| No chance |
The WCAC just divided into A & B Divisions for football. GP can compete in all the other sports although staying up in basketball might be a challenge. But GP, except for the Dwayne Bryant years, has never cared that much about basketball. Sounds like Bullis wants to have a WCAC-like athletic program inside the IAC anyway. So what's the difference between the WCAC and the IAC. And it would align Prep with its brother Jesuit school and spur a lot more interest from alumni. Additionally, it would free Prep from the historically poisonous relationship with Landon which has caused administrators problems for years. |
|
For the IAC, is the following more or less the consensus for next spring?
1. Landon 2. Bullis 3. GP 4. SSSAS 5. STA 6. Episcopal |
|
Landon and St. Stephens should contend. With the addition of the STAB transfer Bullis might also make a run. Both Landon and the Saints will be senior heavy next Spring.
Prep looked BAD this summer, given it was only summer ball, they will be a distant 4th place behind the squads mentioned above. |
