Thank you for that. For some reason, it is not on the schedule that GC posted on their IG, nor is it listed for either team's schedules on the WCAC or lax numbers websites. |
I can't imagine that's true. I've spoke with a bunch of GC parents this year and the one thing they all say is that they've been very inconsistent this year. High highs and lows lows. They sort of expect their girls to play down to weaker opponents. |
ok, just stop with the senior night BS excuse. OLGC has 12 seniors listed on the roster; 10 of the 12 were club players, and 9 of those 12 are committed to play in college. 7 are going D1 they have 1 going D2 and one D3... 1 of the senior commits is injured and did not play. |
Only 4 of the seniors (Marquette, High Point, Monmouth, and Denver) see consistent time and Denver commit just returned from an ACL tear; Bryant commit out with injury. The starting goalie is usually the 2027 not the seniors. 8 commits, not 9. The Winthrop commit listed on Insidelacrosse transferred junior year. They have 10 seniors, the other 2 are managers. But yes, all 10 played club and 2 are not playing in college. Counting and reading are hard. |
It was missed by the ADs when they scheduled but figured out midseason. GC is no longer playing Glenelg because we were told it puts us over the game limit. |
Thank you for providing the update without being a smartass it's rare on here, much appreciated. I do wish they would update the WCAC website that game could be the difference in who gets 3 and 4 between PVI and BI, who play tonight. |
Then you’re either oblivious or new to this forum - or both. Go back and re-read the arrogance in this thread from GC aimed at SJC back in March. |
Agree with this calm and rational post. I'm on SJC side of this and I can tell you that no one sensible at SJC ever said they would compete with GC this year. We were humbly hoping to keep it close and play hard. The GC reaction on this board to a competitive game has been telling and less than gracious. No idea where the antipathy to the coach comes from. Rational assessment: GC is stronger and deeper--and is playing with double figures of Senior and Junior D1 commits They will be strongly favored again in the WCAC playoffs should both teams make the Championship game. Hopefully, next year and the year after will be more of a competitive matchup on paper, as well as on the field. Will have to see how the 2029 and 2030 classes pan out. In the meantime, SJC returns all starters next season, so we will see. |
Believe it or not, most parents from these teams are not posting on this forum. So it is plausible that most parents feel the way the PP said. |
GC won another WCAC game. End of story. |
In other news, Visi beating SSSAS on the ISL side makes for a very interesting playoffs, as the top four have all lost to one or more of their counterparts. Final seeding and momentum will be important. |

If Visi beats Potomac, what are your guesses for top four rankings? |
If Visi beats Pmac they will most likely be 1 and Saints will be 2 since Visi beat Saints. Then it will be Pmac 3 and SR 4 as Pmac beat SR a few weeks ago. |
The top 4 are the top 4. Until last night Potomac and SSSAS were the presumed top seeds with home field advantage in the semis. Visi’s win, combined with a win against Potomac on Friday, would give Visi home field advantage in the semis along with SSSSS. Any one of the top 4 teams would be a tough matchup in the semis depending on who shows up that day, so home field advantage is key. The Friday Visi vs Potomac game will be a must win for both teams, and probably very high energy. |
