This person is an idiot. Equality and Equity do not mean the same thing and you seem confused. There is neither equality nor equity in lacrosse. |
|
Equity - similar outcome despite differences in individual effort or starting point Equality - equal starting point, outcome determined by the individual’s efforts Agree neither exist in Lacrosse nor many other sports. On that note, Pele starting playing soccer barefoot with a stuffed sack full of rags. He did Ok. |
Looking forward to watching the Class 6 state semifinal game between region C & D winners to determine the state Class champion. The actual state final game will be more like a charity benefit concert. |
Any updates from Centreville? Did they fire up the grill tonight? Do they have bbq? How is the lacrosse?
|
Why? Put your name on this post. Have some cojones. |
Bitter looks ugly on you |
Aww, did your daughter have a bad Game again? Please tell her that she is still very good and we think she is doing great this season even though her dad doesn’t |
South Lakes 12-9 winners. |
Called it! |
Way to go South Lakes! Happy for them as they have put out some great competition on top teams all season. |
Lacrosse in general does not get the lions share of athletes to begin with. Very little television exposure impacts its appeal to young kids. Very little scholarship money impacts the decisions to focus solely on the sport. Zero professional careers post college limits the big payoff for many. Kids play for the fun of it and for the sportsmanship. It really is t that expensive. Very little gear for girls. One stick can and should last for years. All other sports rely heavily upon travel (soccer basketball softball volleyball dance etc…) I think parents in general across all sports are ruining the true greatness of youth sports |
No magic in the BBQ sauce tonite. Sure we will get an explanation in the morning. |
Anyone watch the Centreville / South Lakes game - any game details? |
If playing D1 lacrosse is the player’s goal, then it is very expensive and also relies on travel clubs. Not only the equipment and travel club fees, but prospect camps (and related travel expenses) to gain exposure to college coaches. Also, if the kid is on that track, they need two sticks, and will have to restring or replace heads at least once a year. I would hate to go back and add it all up. |
