That is a very wonderful and useful rhetoric

All that aside, I do not see peace as a reality. There would have to be major concessions on both sides and a concrete plan for how to implement the 2 state solution,

If peace doesn’t come, I see Israel as inevitably being at war with more nations

So you don’t want to engage in the question? What do you want?

DP. All Israeli rhetoric starts with a clever tactic in which the Israeli maximalist position is objective and the starting point of any negotiation. Nope. Every country on earth has learned to leave brutal conflict and enemies in the past and forge new paths forward. It would take good faith negotiations and hard choices by Israel.

Israel’s chosen path has been total annihilation of rivals, citing World War II doctrine. That position has alway relied on leveraging the US and the West as its shield. It is not a feasible long term strategy. Israel has lost Western support for generations and spooked all neighbors who now see it plainly as a country aiming for regional dominance. Israel is in a very vulnerable position of its own doing. It will be bled to death economically and militarily by a long drawn war that it created.

I’m not Israeli. I’m not even Jewish.

I just know the difference between discussions that lead to violence and death, and discussions that lead to peace.

Russian Caucus mountains region... Western news aside from German DW has not picked it up yet. In Kabardino Balkansk (Balkaria) a Jewish center was burned down overnight and Death to Yehudim was scribbled on the walls. A Telegram channel in Dagestan (Hasavurt) spread rumors that a person who looks like “an Israeli citizen” was seen outside of Flamingo hotel. A group of 100 people gathered outside of the hotel demanding that management lets them in and allows them to check if any Jews are staying at the hotel. The police allowed some members of the group to enter and check each room including the basement, looking for Jews. When no Jews were found, the group moved on to the next hotel called Kiev, where the same scenario ensued. Cannot find any English language reporting, the only Western media reporting is DW in Russian https://amp.dw.com/ru/v-dagestane-tolpa-sobralas-u-otela-izza-sluhov-o-zivusih-v-nem-evreah/a-67247745

Hamas seems to have a strategy of trying to get Gazans eliminated to gain world sympathy?

Anyway, I think rational people can agree this is a horrible situation and peace talks must happen. I’d like to see everyone that cares about human life to mobilize in that direction instead of aligning themselves with causes they don’t understand.

The Israeli government doesn’t care about their own citizens held hostage. It’s clear those poor souls have been written off.

Ok, what about the other part of what I said?

Zero empathy for their families either. Left to their own devices, protesting in front of government offices. Western leaders who visited Israel met with impacted families before Netanyahu caved and did so yesterday.

This is GENOCIDE no matter what you say. Half the Palestinian population is under 18. Do you guys have no shame? Do you guys not fear your God? Do you think your God will be in favor of taking the lives of these innocent children?

This in insanity. This mindless bombing is not killing Hamas. It is creating more Hamas members by killing people’s entire families and making them harbor even more resentment towards their occupiers. Netanyahu couldn’t care less about getting Hamas. Hamas actually helps his agenda. Pretty sure he willfully ignored the signs of an imminent Hamas attack because it gave him the perfect excuse to go in and annihilate the Palestinian population. There is no way the IDF and Mossad did not know what was coming with all their intelligence and support from the U.S. The IDF just wants to kill all Palestinians and the world is just watching as this genocide is taking place. What a sad world to raise our kids in.

The blame falls on Hamas.

Nobody disputes this. But the question to Israelis who care is what is your responsibility? Palestinian children being killed in your name should really make you stop and think. And do not use the “this is war” excuse. Palestinians are not a free people able to make choices for themselves. They are under military occupation. They are not recognized internationally. Half their population (in Gaza) is under 18. It’s not a fair fight. Open your hearts and realize you have a duty to these kids just as you have a duty to Jewish citizens.

The duty lies with their occupier, Hamas.

He will do anything to stay out of prison. That’s it. He’s an absolute monster. I don’t believe he conspired to create this disaster, but his lack of ethics, lack of legal operations insofar as countering the WB settlers and growing incursions on Palestinians, and attempt to eradicate rule of law all contributed to this situation.

Bibi keeps teasing a multi front war with Lebanon and Egypt. At this point, let it happen. Let’s see which entities are neutralized over time.

You don’t have to be Israeli or Jewish to have been inundated for decades by the Israeli narrative. It always starts with a maximalist option stated as de facto.

Whether or not Hamas releases them, the fact remains that every time Israel drops a bomb on Gaze, Israeli hostages are in grave danger. From Israeli bombs.

Many families of Israeli hostages have talked about wanting peace. It’s astounding and moving and heartbreaking to read.

Guess that’s too much to ask of the armchair warriors here who are sooo concerned about dead children who look like their own (that’s a reference to the poster who said her sympathy lies more with Palestinian children because they look like her son).

If you care about peace, you don’t sit here all day painting the other side as monsters. I have barely seen anyone call all Palestinians evil but I’ve sure as shit seen it go the other way. It’s appalling.
