As for the privates versus the publics? Who cares? I get if you have the cash and need the ego boost, spend it on their HS education. Sh@t, I went to Deerfield back when that crap actually mattered but now, who cares? Comparing the privates to publics is stupid. |

Just out of curiosity, my daughter plays for battlefield. I’m not trash talking any other team, but what team do you represent? Oakton is having a great season Madison has a tough run but is doing great Would have loved to have played Centreville at full strength the entire game South is lakes is a fast riser Woodson is always hanging on tight Robinson is the only team to beat us, and it was only by one, so that is a game that will be a 50/50 toss up That’s how that is done. I’m so tired of your negative attitude. So tell me, where does your daughter play? I would love to pay her a compliment, because she is obviously only being told that she is never good enough at home by you. So you tell me where to send the compliment and I will make sure she has some positivity in her life |

Current Projections on a State Championship -- takes into account path through Regionals & States. This is not a ranking of the top 7 in order.
For entertainment purposes (i.e. not slamming anyone) 1) Battlefield 25% 4:1 --- Path secure to State Final. Proven they can compete with Fairfax/Arlington teams. 2) Oakton 20% 5:1 ---- Hard to pass up these odds and looks low. 3) Madison 17% 6:1 --- Should meet Oakton a 3rd time in Regional Finals. Expect a great game!! 4) Robinson 12% 8.5:1 -- Favorite to advance to States but has to get past Woodson or West Potomac 5) Woodson 10% 10:1 -- Too high -- or just right? 6) Centreville 8% 12.5:1 -- At one point ranked #1. Very talented team that may be getting overlooked 7) West Potomac 5% 20:1 -- Some people on the this board are taking these odds 8) The Field 3% 33:1 <Langley, Yorktown, South Lakes, West Springfield> |

This probably a fair assessment currently. The problem teams 2-12 (including the "field" in there) is that only 4 of the 10 even make the state quarterfinal, so even a favorite may have multiple chances to lose against another good team on an off night. For example, hypothetically Oakton may have to beat South Lakes and Yorktown to just make states, and then beat Robinson and Madison, just to play Battlefield. The Cougars may be bad*ss this year, but that's a tough road with no breaks or room for error. |
