Interesting opinion. Oakton beat number 6, SSAS, who beat number 7, Stone Ridge. Not sure "those teams would smash".

Also Madison held their own in a scrimmage with number 8, St Johns, and lost by two to Potomac (on the bubble), and Oakton beat Madison pretty handily.

Not a crazy or ill-informed ranking from WaPo.

SJC beat Madison 15-5 in that scrimmage. It was 11-1 when SJC put their second line in the game.

If battlefield puts 30 on them, shame on them.

Hopefully they let the reserves that practice all season get most of the PT once they up 10-0

19-4 Battlefield played with lots of class.

There are no Nova 6A public school teams that could load up more than a few privates on their schedule, as they have to play all district teams and have good reason to play other contenders in their region. Privates have their priorities too. If playing a bunch of privates is the standard, then the Post’s ratings are only for privates or Howard County publics, Virginia publics don’t count.

A few is better than none (or one in Oakton’s case).

Well done battlefield this eve in not running it up.

Oakton defeated Bullis, Norfolk Academy, and SSSAS. That is three privates, not one. Not saying that Bullis and Norfolk are good, but they do play the good privates. Keep in mind that it takes two to tango. Not all privates want to schedule public schools.

Lots of private school parents monitoring the VHSL board and aggressively defending the ISL and WCAC. A little touchy?

For 40k per you at least want bragging rights!

Three easy private school victories to pad the win column. All of the others on that list would gladly play you. They play each other - why on earth wouldn’t they want to play Oakton. Please

Keep deflecting. Has nothing to do with private v public. You’ll note no one is saying Glenelg doesn’t deserve their spot. Schedule tougher teams next year and earn it.

Not sure who Glenn is but sure he/she? Is a good player

Since when do people regard SSSAS an easy opponent to pad a record? I guess Stone Ridge scheduled them to pad theirs.

They have only played 2 teams with losing records. 1 of them is Yorktown.

Juggernaut competition with this statement. Glad you are showing class to a team who got beat 19-2 by Annandale. No offense to the young ladies who are out there trying. You Battlefield parents are hysterical. Only competition you have faced is outside your conference. Keep being classy. Easy to sh-t talk when you get a perpetual bye to the States.

One OT squeak win against a ranked opponent doesn’t earn a #5 a slot when you haven’t played any of the other teams on that list. Pretty simple stuff.

What a joke SR and PVI would crush them
