1) a group of black male adults, belonging to an organization labeled a hate group, yelling vile insults at white kids

2) we have a Native American adult male, antagonizing the white kids

3) we have white kids who, while smart enough not to tangle with the black males, feel safer (correctly) in holding their ground against the lone, older Narive American (who is far from an innocent bystander)

All the crititcism (by liberals) is focused on the white kids. The worst behavior, by far, is by the black adults. Shame on them.

Yep. You have to wonder.... why the misdirected negative targeting of these boys? (rhetorical question)

You have to wonder . . . why the rhetorical question instead of just stating your assertion (whatever it may be) outright?

Oh, I have stated my assertion several times. Bottom line: This group of students checks all the boxes needed to be targets of the social media mob.

Yup.
White? Check.
Male? Check
Christian? Check.

Must be difficult to walk around with that crown of thorns on your head.

I'm Catholic School educated and was an active Catholic until the last decade or so. I know the sort of victim mentality they promote. So, I'm not impressed with your whining.

Wow.

IT WASN'T BLACKFACE!
It was a "blackout game," genius. So sick of the rumors you and others are spreading.

Proof:

"Years of imposing negative values?" Bull$hit. You, dear, are the one that needs to take a step back.

It's blackface dumb a$$. My child's school has blackouts all the time, wear black clothes, not black face.

Here, friend (I won't resort to name calling). This is the definition of blackface:

"Blackface is a form of theatrical make-up used predominantly by non-black performers to represent a caricature of a black person."

This is NOT what these kids were doing. Keep spreading the lies.

Anyone with a modicum of sense knows it is not a good idea for white boys at an predominantly white school to paint their faces black to menace an opposing team that has black players, no matter what the intent. If you don’t know that this is a bad idea you need to read more widely especially about American racial history.

Also why did the kids leave patches of white around their eyes and lips?

Any adult who is halfway intelligent and isn't an asshole would have stopped that as soon as they saw it.

Poor judgement.

Do you subject everyone to this kind of scrutiny, or just 15 year old white males?

Bullshit. They still behaved like assholes.

This whole culture war could be avoided if people like Mr. Phillips would just stay in their places.

Also Nick Sandmann is deplorable. Plenty of the boys moved out of Nathan Phillips way but Nick Sandmann just stood there, like a blithering idiot with a smirk on his face. His behavior captured on video stands in stark contrast to his flowery statement claiming innocence.

Where the hell were the chaperones?!

Why the hell should he have to "move out of the way?" Because Nathan Phillips is OLD? Because of his race? If Sandmann was in a spot he had EVERY right to be in FIRST, why should he have to move?

I don’t even understand a parent (assuming you are and not just a whipped up troll) feeling this way.

It was the "adults" who were entitled in this situation.

I'm guessing there are a lot of things you will never understand.

No, it has nothing to do with that.

It’s common sense. What do you do if some is briskly walking towards you, in your path on a sidewalk? Or a car comes up behind you, clearly wanting to pass you? Or someone is in your path and not moving?

You move out of the way.

The fact that other boys moved out of the way without issue speaks for itself. Sandmann chose to stay in place which came across as aggressive, not passive or innocent as he’s trying to suggest he was. There was no need to “stand his ground” in a public place. And Jesus Christ, if s group of Native American protestors came towards me, clearly wanting to walk through my path, also while holding cameras, I’m going to move the hell out of the way because I’m not going to be the jack*ss who gets caught on camera blocking a peaceful protest.

No, the reason they are getting targeted is that they were acting like utter assholes. Can any parent here honestly say they'd want their kid acting like that? I hope not.

+1

I think it was disgusting behavior, but I put most of the blame on the school & chaperones. The kids obviously weren't prepared to be in that situation. The parents/school should use this as a learning moment on:
- how to respect others
- how to behave in public
- how to teach children to respect others
- how to teach children to behave in public
- how to chaperone children in public

I don't think the kids should be dinged by colleges - some earlier PPs were taking it way out of line.

But they should do some serious self-reflection and maybe guided learning (kids and adults at the school/parent chaperones) on how to handle it better next time.

The black Isrealis need help getting mental healthcare.

The indigenous people deserve better all around.

Others schools might be closed because of the weather.

Covington is closed because they're worried about some crazed liberal trying to murder their students.

Thanks.

It's really telling that no one has come on to address this question.

Was their behavior really representing their purported faith that brought them to a rally to speak for the sanctity of life? Why are their parents spending money on a school that has failed to instill Catholic values in them?

Simply by virtue of the fact that they were there defending those who cannot speak for themselves..... the unborn. I know this is hard for you to understand, but that is why they were present.

The social media mob is working overtime in taking these kids down. It is shameful. They are teenagers and still have a lot to learn about the world. I cannot believe that there are adults who condone the actions of social media to cause these kids to be put at risk.

I really hope those who are looking to take legal action are successful. This type of social media shaming is harmful, dangerous, and hateful.

Defending the unborn by excusing rape. Nice.

Do we know that kid ("it's not rape if you enjoy it") and the boys harassing the girls on the street are, in fact, Covington Catholic students? The one is clearly from that area as he is wearing a Bengals sweatshirt.

You know what I saw? After the one kid yells his comment about rape (which was not acceptable at all), the boys around him scolded him... he then retreated into the background.

Maybe. Maybe they realized they were being recorded. I would HOPE that someone would scold him. But, I also saw people smiling and giggling.

And above all, I would hope that no one would say what that kid said in the first place. That's problematic. The fact that you are unwilling to recognize that is also problematic.

You know what else is interesting about this clip? It was cut off at an interesting spot. Right when someone was saying, "he does not go to...."
Hmm.. Seems that the kid yelling this may not actually be a student at this school.
