Where is this substantiated?

Everyone called me a liar 50 pages ago when I posted that I saw on fb or insta that her sister was taken into custody. Sadly, this is looking more likely. Just savage.

Her sister was in the family video holding Savannah’s hand. She was not taken into custody.

this is like a movie if she is involved though. The level of deception to Savannah is just as bad if not worse than the crime

Np here, but sure that could happen. I’m sure someone monitors who is online and it would be very noticeable if someone wasn’t there.

I heard about a family who k ew something was wrong with an older relative because they had not posted in the Wordle group chat that day. Lots of older people have very consistent schedules.

I think her church said they aren't set-up to track online attendees. Sounds like the version they gave police isn't panning out

Right - they mentioned a church friend alerted them that Nancy didn’t attend. How did Nancy’s friend have Annie’s number? Which friend? Cell records are easily obtainable.

They messed up by using that as their reason

This just doesn't seem that odd to me. She isn't Catholic and doens't go to a huge mass. She goes to services at a smaller protestant church, I think, and is very religious-- it doesn't surprise me that there would be a community of older women that expects to see each other online at services and gets concerned if they don't see the regular crew online and texting the daughter to check on her mom just seems very normal to me. But I agree that it's easily verifiable.

This. Older women who live alone create these safety nets for each other. My mom has a deal with her neighbors where they open the blinds on a certain window each day so they know they aren’t dead or in trouble. My mom also texts me and my brother each morning.

Yes, the church crew probably texts each other before logging on for services. Not at all unusual for older people.

+1. These are old women. They have nothing better to do.

Wow. How rude. Maybe they’re also longtime friends who check up on each other, especially when some live alone?

The extensive searches on the daughter and SIL's home could be because they are really a prime suspect.

Or it could be because it would be bad in a future trial of a different person if they did *not* do it.

If the guy in the white van who was reported loitering in the neighborhood earlier in the week is later charged, his defense attorney would rake the state through the coals for not thoroughly checking the daughter's home for blood or other evidence. Hence the use of luminol and flash photography in the garage for hours. Now the state can show they thoroughly checked the daughter's garage and car and there was no evidence of a crime.

So while it might be hopeful that the flurry of activity means the crime is about to be solved, it could also be they are just covering all their bases for the future.

If they find nothing suspicious about the daughter and her husband, but there are no other suspects, it's unfortunate if they are truly innocent that they will suffer from public perception that they are guilty.

If they are truly guilty, I have to think something will be found.

Why so condescending? Conversing with each other is something "better to do". It promotes socializing, a vital necessity as we age, and it promotes safety. When your circle notices you aren't texting as usual, they can have someone check on you. If they are in a church and did NOT text or talk to each other, that would be concerning that they are perhaps lonely or depressed.

Did the church ladies know Annie’s number? According to Annie and Tomasco, they were alerted to complete a wellness check after discovering from one of Nancy’s friends that Nancy did not attend for Sunday’s virtual service. This is all early verifiable. Cops have already determined whether someone from church called or texted Nancy asking for her whereabouts or if someone from church informed Annie.

I believe LE was already on to the family as suspects but was not disclosing that so Annie, Tomasco, and Savannah do not freak out. Remember, Savannah was staying with Annie at her home for this week. It must be awkward now. At this point, she must be aware something is going on if they were taking photos of their garage in the dark and impounding vehicles

Why do you call him Tomasco? That’s not his name. You’re posting over and over here a bunch of nonsense. You’re probably the same one who doesn’t have a clue what a pacemaker is.

I think there is something weird going on with the info that someone from the church notified Annie that Nancy didn't attend (whether in person or online).

The reason it's weird is that it was stated as a "fact", either in the first press conference or in the charging document of the ransom scammer. Yet at a later press conference with the detailed timeline of her garage opening/closing, the camera getting disconnected, her pacemaker not communicating, they skipped right to Annie comes to check up on her.

Why did they leave out the time of the church friend contacting Annie? Did it not really happen? Was it an incorrect statement originally or is there an investigative reason they aren't mentioning it? (such as Annie wasn't truthful about the details?).

But everyone keeps repeating it like it's a "fact", when the authorities sure are being quiet about it now.

I have a very hard time believing that a daughter would harm her mother, much less her elderly mother.

Men are much more likely to commit violent crimes. Just based on the odds alone, I wouldn’t suspect her sister. A male in the family - maybe. But they’re presenting a united front which points to it not being a member of the family.

Hoda sat in for Savannah this morning. Around 730 when Hoda, Craig, Al and Carson are at the news desk. They all looked like they were on the verge of tears and trying to not cry on TV. I thought they had received bad news over the break and we’re going to break the news on the air. I speculated that they privately received an update from Savannah, which is why they were broken up.

I doubt she’s updating coworkers in real time.

Craig had to clear his throat several times I noticed that too.

Jenna and Hoda are two of her best friends. Their families are extremely close.

This sounds incredibly stupid. I would think criminal masterminds would be able to procure medication if they needed it. But I doubt Nancy needs it anymore.

Maybe whoever is behind this isn't a criminal mastermind though.

They have some level of sophistication to get away with this for this long.

Why not? These are probably some of her best friends and of course as a journalist she knows breaking a big story is a big deal. This is a national interest story for whatever reason.

I think some people think that made for TV movies are how things go down in real life.
