If the guy in the white van who was reported loitering in the neighborhood earlier in the week is later charged, his defense attorney would rake the state through the coals for not thoroughly checking the daughter's home for blood or other evidence. Hence the use of luminol and flash photography in the garage for hours. Now the state can show they thoroughly checked the daughter's garage and car and there was no evidence of a crime.

So while it might be hopeful that the flurry of activity means the crime is about to be solved, it could also be they are just covering all their bases for the future.

If they find nothing suspicious about the daughter and her husband, but there are no other suspects, it's unfortunate if they are truly innocent that they will suffer from public perception that they are guilty.

If they are truly guilty, I have to think something will be found.
