Ugh, that’s awful.

I’m from Tucson too and my elderly mom also lives in Catalina foothills but way on east side. I’m guessing savannahs mom is over on northwest side though, closer to the malls? That’s where most of the larger lots are.

So very sad. Given all the LEO and FBI involvement, there must be evidence of a terrIble crime. Can't imagine the depravity of a person who would harm an 84 year old woman.

Scary!

That is so horrible. I’m so sorry to read this.

Here’s the local newspaper coverage — does sound like they are throwing everything at this although she’s been missing more than 24 hours now:

Given the neighborhood, I would think many ring cameras and the perp was almost certainly driving so hopefully they can catch a break on getting the tags. But it is super dark in the foothills at night so I would think that would make it harder. How awful for the whole family.

Also from Tucson (that makes three of us- what are the odds…)

I live in the foothills - Nancy lives in a neighborhood just south of La Encantada and the intersection at Skyline/Campbell.

Yes, it is very dark and many of the ring cameras may not have great visibility/range to the street (the lots are large, with most homes set further back from the street). Hopefully something turns up.

Are home invasions rare there?

Are there other adult children and family in the area? A kid living 3,000 miles away from their aging widow mom makes me so sad. She prob only saw her a handful of times a year

How do you know where she lives? Is that common knowledge in the local area? If so, that really makes her a soft target. I hope she is returned quickly and safely.

That article says she can not even walk 50 yards by herself and has limited physical mobility.

The family was notified when she didn't attend church as she always attends. I wonder how she normally gets to church given she barely walks - someone must normally pick her up?

It says the house has a number of cameras so the family should have been able to check that?

I would say home invasions are quite rare (I don’t recall hearing about any). Generally a very safe area and neighborhood.

Thanks for answering. Such a terrible thing for her and her family.

Yes, relatively common knowledge but not of great interest to most people either. A fair number of celebrity adjacent people live in this particular area. Adam Sandler’s sister lives in the same general area (leading to a lot of Adam Sandler sightings).

I hope she is returned quickly. It is really hard to see a why anyone would harm an elderly lady.
