Anyone still watching today show? It’s their lead story. She’s 84 but has no cognitive decline and it sounds like the police are suspecting some sort of foul play.
Very strange. |
|
I’m watching and I also think that is what happened. She has no cognitive issues, in the make sure to emphasize that her house was not quite right.
This is terrible, and I really hope she wasn’t kidnapped for ransom or for political reasons. |
| Something similar happened to Cal Ripkens mom abducted for money |
|
No matter what this is very scary.
I’m confused at what is suspected, though- do the police think her mother was kidnapped “for ransom”? If so, from whom - Savannah? wouldn’t kt seem odd that if someone was seeking $ from Savannah Guthrie, that they’d kidnap her mother, instead of her spouse or kids? Very sad and scary, whatever is going on. |
| How sad and terrible. I hope she is found safe and unharmed. |
I haven’t seen reports that kidnapping is suspected. What I saw said that the conditions at the house were “concerning” and implied foul play. |
An older lady may be easier to subdue physically. |
I’m the “random” poster and I said that for a couple reasons. The conditions of the house and how foul play might be suspected. Also, the fact that the FBI is involved. The reports didn’t say that it was my take away from the news. I should have made that clear. |
| Ok but if the crime scene is concerning and foul play is suspected and a person is missing.... yeah we think she may have been kidnapped |
And she probably doesn't have the same level of security devices that Savannah and her immediate family do. |
| Hoping Ring cans, neighbors' cams, cell phone pinging, dubious ATM withdrawal, will help find her. |
| Was Savannah on air this morning? |
|
She was reported missing by her family around noon Sunday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said.
Nanos told reporters that aspects of the scene at the home caused "grave concern." "This one stood out because of what was described to us at the scene and what we found and located just in looking at the scene," Nanos said. He did not elaborate on what caused such concern. |
| Very scary and I hope they find her. She is quite close to her mom and likely visits very often. Otherwise, I would just assume she was the clueless sibling who insists you are crazy and mom is fine and does not have dementia because mom seems lucid and showboats when she visits. The person pushes back until something bad happens and then swears it was sudden onset of some severe dementia when you were saying things for years and everyone insisted you were wrong and refused to plan. That is what happened to us, but the scary event was NOT a disappearance, so sadly it was my first thought here. I hope they find her soon. |
