| Dont feed the troll. Probably the misogynist FOGO dad. Just ignore and enjoy a great season! |
| its the bitter gonzaga dad again |
Do you have any evidence to your proclamation? |
| Just look at their schedule; St Josephs, St Mary and Severn. These are the perennial bottom dwellers of the MIAA-A league. If they wanted to make a statement and be considered the best team to come out of the DC area they need to start scheduling the heavyweights like Calvert Hall, McDonogh and Boy’s Latin. When The Hill Academy and Culver Academy come to town they should play them as well. The only issue is they would lose a game or two. You must be the daddy of one of the Landon players. Keep beating your chest about being the best team ever. |
| Is this where the Landon LAX dads come to make themselves feel good. |
| Name a DMV team better than this year's Landon team. |
| I don't think this team would beat last years Bullis team or a couple of the recent Gonzaga teams. |
| Well, we will never know but maybe examine those teams' Laxpower Strength of Schedule and their overall record and Landon 2017 is probably best team ever in DMV. |
Not a Landon father but I give respect when it is earned. Landon beat more teams ranked in the final Inside Lacrosse / Under Armour than any team in the Country. (Bullis x2, Brunswick from CT , and Saint Ignatius from CA). No other team in the final poll can claim this. Was this the best team ever to come out of DC, its way too early to even make that claim. The Landon 2002 team, had a Tewaaaraton winner in Matt Ward and several others who ended up being collegiate All Americans. |
| WaveLax 22 game -- VA 12- MD 10 (2018) it was an intense pick-up game and a to of fun! |
| How would you compare the quality of play in 2002 compared to today? Did any teams exist in Cali or Tx for that matter? How many more kids in Baltimore and LI are now playing compared to 2002. I think it would be like comparing Bob Cousy Celtics with 2017 GS Warriors. 2017 Landon has strong claim of best ever. |
|
I actually thought the Landon and Prep teams in the late 90's and early 2000's were better than the teams you see today.
Back in the day, if you had talented lacrosse player, you really only had two schools to send your son, Landon or GP. Both teams at the time were perennial top 20 programs every year and loaded with depth. Sure there were not nearly as many kids playing the sports 15 - 20 years ago as there were today but there were no alternatives to send your son. Fast forward today, there are several privates in the area that have strong lacrosse programs (Bullis, Saint Stephens, Gonzaga, Paul VI, St. Johns, and a few publics). My guess is that as the sport continues to grow and the coaching continues to improve, public schools programs in 15 - 20 years will rival most of the privates. |
| Counterpoint-- there were fewer NBA teams 50 years ago when Cousy was playing but that doesn't mean that the players who were playing are better than the players of today. I see a jump every 5 or 6 years in the quality of play. |
Have two female lax players in my family who have or are playing division 1 lax within the last 5 years. They take their semester abroad in the summer. |
2021s are a solid team. But under the new rules, boys won't be getting serious looks for 2 more years. By then, some parents may get antsy and defect to more established pipeline club teams like Madlax, VLC and Crabs. |
