Oh she has the body too. Slim, tall, with curves? Her coloring and build are pretty ideal in Indian culture. Aparna is on her way to dumpy middle age.

She's already there. She's fat, she's arrogant, she isn't pretty, and she's uptight. Yes, she had a moment with the goat yoga, but that was just a moment, and then she was back to herself. Anyone else notice her TINY one-story house squished between two normal-sized houses? Or how she and her mom walked the dog in a stroller?

Aparna is a straight up bitch.

This person knows what’s up

+1. I really struggle to find anything redeeming about her. She seems totally miserable with her life and like she would make any partner miserable as well.

I don’t think she is fat and she is better looking than a lot of Indian girls. She does seem uptight but was a lot more relaxed with the guy from goat yoga. Making fun of someone’s house size and their dog means you are a straight up bitch. The dog may have medical issues and is heavy to carry. When she finds someone she is compatible with they will love her and she will relax a bit. She can travel with him, complain about her job, and he will listen and pack all the bags. The world is a big place and there are plenty of Indian dudes that would think she is hot. She is also a lawyer so there is bonus points for stuck up Indians there. Also, for the person attacking her mom, you are pathetic.

You must be blind or a patronizing pos if you think she looks better than a lot of Indian girls. Hideous, fat and bitchy=not hot

This is a super-wealthy family though not super educated or woke. The mom knows that the sons will need sex and so if they don't get them married very young, they can end up with someone who is educated and independent and then bye-bye joint family. They are getting very young girls to marry their sons (oldest DIL is totally vacant and cowed) and they are ensuring that the sons are getting laid and not getting entrapped by some woman who has a mind of her own. Did you see the amount of jewelry that was given to the new DIL by the MIL? Insane.

Indian-American here. My DD and I watched this series and were addicted. It is like a train wreck that you cannot tear your eyes away from. OMG!!

I knew of families like Pradyumna's and Aditya's. These two basically held out for really good looking girls. The girls know the score. They will live in the lap of luxury as long as they stay home and raise the kids. Hideous and horrible. I loved the lawyer guy who ended up with the guyanese girl. Really nice.

It is ironic that despite her insistence on joint family, she doesn’t seem to live in one. I don’t see in-laws of any kind in her home.

Yes but he looks 45, and has the independence of a 9 year old. So gross.

Yes, literally the worst of everything. Much younger than Aparna, but similarly on the fast track to dumpy middle age.

I agree with the holding out comment. So many people thought Prahyuman was gay. I think quite the opposite. He is looking for the best of the best. He knows what he has to offer and he isn’t willing to settle.

In Indian joint families it isn’t just mothers and fathers in law that live with a family, it’s also all of the husband’s brothers and their kids. So where are these brother in laws? Unless she has none. So Akash’s mom gets all the benefits of having her sons living with her forever without having had to make a similar sacrifice.

I’m Indian, what the hell are you taking about? That would absolutely not be the norm.

Yes it is, especially among North Indians and in Mumbai and Gujarat.

Well lucky for you I'm from combo Punjabi and Gujarati families and I can tell you that a bunch of brother in laws and their families living together is not the norm.

Real life is not Hum Saath Saath Hain.
