I have a close friend who is Guyanese-American but identifies as black who has very Indian features. There’s no intermarriage? Is that why a lot of the Indian men aren’t interested in her? She’s very pretty and tall (which apparently is a very desirable quality)

Yes, she seems to be.

Your friend - why would they identify as black? Guyana is in South America. Do you mean Guinea or Ghana?

I most definitely do not mean guinea or Ghana.

He looks like a black person with Indian facial features. I’m black and he is darker than me and has kinky hair. We’re both descended from slaves.

There are Afro-Guyanese and Indo-Guyanese along with the indigenous population.
As stated before, they were segregated and divides were perpetuated between the two groups. A civil war damn near broke out. There may be some mixing but it is not the norm.

So yes, your friend can identify as black and Nadia as Indian and they are both correct, that does not mean there was likely any intermixing.

So....all that to say that you don’t know if that’s why a lot of Indian men aren’t interested in her?

???
You asked if she was likely 100% Indian. All that is to say most likely, Yes.

Yes! And skin color

I guess short, dark Indian women are out of luck? Sad

Are pasty pale, short white women heavily sought after in America?

If an American guy were telling a matchmaker his ideal type, is that what would be most often described?

Oh she has the body too. Slim, tall, with curves? Her coloring and build are pretty ideal in Indian culture. Aparna is on her way to dumpy middle age.

She's already there. She's fat, she's arrogant, she isn't pretty, and she's uptight. Yes, she had a moment with the goat yoga, but that was just a moment, and then she was back to herself. Anyone else notice her TINY one-story house squished between two normal-sized houses? Or how she and her mom walked the dog in a stroller?

Aparna is a straight up bitch.

This person knows what’s up

+1. I really struggle to find anything redeeming about her. She seems totally miserable with her life and like she would make any partner miserable as well.

I don’t think she is fat and she is better looking than a lot of Indian girls. She does seem uptight but was a lot more relaxed with the guy from goat yoga. Making fun of someone’s house size and their dog means you are a straight up bitch. The dog may have medical issues and is heavy to carry. When she finds someone she is compatible with they will love her and she will relax a bit. She can travel with him, complain about her job, and he will listen and pack all the bags. The world is a big place and there are plenty of Indian dudes that would think she is hot. She is also a lawyer so there is bonus points for stuck up Indians there. Also, for the person attacking her mom, you are pathetic.

Look around NOVA, there are plenty of tiny dinky houses from the 60s or 70s with huge rebuilds right next to them.

I think this is what's going on, it must be a neighborhood where the smaller, older houses are being torn down one by one over time.

Maybe? Petite blondes don't seem to be having too difficult of a time in the dating market.

Blonde does not equal pasty pale. Most are bottle blondes with fake tans.

And this is telling a person whose doing the work for you your grand ideas of the ideal. Of course people aren’t as choosy when they have to do the work of finding a partner on their own.

If you think she's better looking than a lot of Indian women, you need to travel more. I do agree with the PP that she will make anyone miserable.

Same. I really liked him at the beginning.

Ashkay was hard to watch. He had no social skills. He seemed asexual which made me feel bad that his mother was pushing so hard. Their house though--it was dripping with money, though still tasteful, I thought.

Ashkay is/was 25! Just out of college and working for 2 months and then mom insists he marries. Honestly, it might be the first time he has sex!

Out of all the numerous dating shows, how many ever stay together after their 5 minutes of fame? I can only think of that one Bachelorette from like almost 20 years ago.
