“They walk over to the wall of windows where Anello appears to look over the railing, through the open window. Anello picks Chloe up and stands her up on the railing, and they appear to lean over together looking out over the port.

Then he re-adjusts and sits Chloe on the railing, still facing the port. They lean over again and she disappears from the frame.”

Grandpa is lying.

Why do people lie when they know there's video of their actions? This and the reporter assaulter... it's mind boggling. YOU. ARE. ON. VIDEOTAPE. Why do you lie??!

I’m sure it’s hard for his brain to accept that he’s responsible for the death of a small child. And not in an “oops I backed out of the driveway and didn’t see her” way, but he DECIDED to pick her up and lean her out a window. It’s so astoundingly stupid and he’s clearly not in touch with reality in parading around telling his story. I don’t know how the lawyer, having viewed this video, could encourage the continual telling of the glass wall story.

I do still feel bad for the parents even though others say they’re greedy. I don’t think that’s it. I’m sure they’d give anything in the world to have their daughter back. But accepting the fact someone you trusted brought about an incredibly awful death for your child has to be excruciatingly difficult to process. I wish they’d take a step back from the media spotlight. I don’t think it’s helping them. But my stomach churns at the thought of learning one of my parents killed my child.

The parents are willing to DESTROY someone else (in this case, Royal Caribbean) who did NOTHING wrong. That is pure evil. They deserve every "excruciating" moment they face.

JFC the cruise line is nowhere near being destroyed. It sounds like they want accountability— screens, warnings, etc. I’m not necessarily saying those things are reasonably needed. But I think the parents are grasping at straws “to do something.” They’re not trying to sue them out of existence.

Why are you so defensive of a giant corporation? And yet completely heartless and unable to have any sympathy for these parents who lost a child?

I just watched the video (it's not graphic) and the grandfather LEANS OUT THE WINDOW for a few seconds, then he picks up the baby and it seems that he holds here there for a while. Then he drops to the ground.

Omg. I never expected to be that clear that he held the child out of the window. He is such a complete liar. How can he claim that it is anything but his fault?

Not only does he lean past the window frame, but when he holds her, most of her body is past the window frame. He actually lifted her and held her beyond the railing and partially outside the window frame. There's an amazing amount of denial here if he thinks he has any chance of being acquitted and of them even winning a settlement. It is very clear that he didn't just sit her on top of the safety railing, but he lifted her beyond the railing and out the window.

This despicable family deserves to lose the lawsuit and be publicly humiliated. They should not be using their grief to be greedy and repugnant.

I hate to say this but after seeing the video do you think he did it purposefully? The way he came up with a lie so quickly and the way he’s twisting everything to make himself look innocent I wonder if he did it on purpose.

That video is really hard to see -- i.e. it's low quality for the distance and angle that we are all interested in.

The faux-outrage from the family about the video being released is another strike against them and again, paints them as drama-seekers.

Their claim that they want to protect their older child from seeing it and being traumatized is absurd. A person can hardly tell what is happening at all! And you can't even see Chloe fall.

The one thing it does look like to me -- Anello seems to take a good long leaning look out the window before picking the child up. While the video doesn't exactly show me how he lost hold of her when she fell, it DOES cement the case that he knew the window was open, in my opinion, based on how he leans into the window prior to picking her up.

Ugh, I don’t know that I can bring myself to watch it, as much as I would like to know what really happened.

If the parents really truly don't think Grandpa did anything wrong, do they still trust Grandpa to be alone with their son in his care?

But yeah the video is pretty damning. He is very obviously leaning out the open window, and saying "I thought it was closed" is complete horsesh!at.

It’s not graphic at all it’s simply surveillance of the area. It’s grainy and not soul crushing.

Puerto Rican prosecutors have offered him a deal that results in NO JAIL time and minimal supervision --- And he still won't take it!

Why?

'Cause they need to keep up the farce that he is innocent in order to press their claim for $$$$$ from Royal Caribbean.

It's not graphic or close, but grainy security footage. But enough you can tell he was leaning out the open window.

It's here, via the weird talk show commentary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHKVDMDKZk4

I think he was not thinking at all. That it was fun to hang her out and have her look down. I do not think he was trying to harm her but it was certainly negligent. And to lie and blame the cruise line for lack of signs......he deserves the punishment he gets. I would have sympathy for him if he just fessed up and admitted he did something stupid.

The family needs to own up to the fact that thier lawsuit was the reason this video was released.

It appears Anello leans his whole upper body out the window BEFORE picking the child up.
