WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! Who the eff cares if it was totally dark, or maybe dusk, or even if it was pitch black. Women should be able to run at night, ALONE, anytime of day without morons on the internet saying THEY should have done something differently to "be safe". This woman did nothing wrong. She was violently attacked and murdered for seemingly no reason. If that doesn't send chills up your spine, seek help. Really? That's what the police want you to think, but actually it is shockingly common. We used to live very close to where this attack took place (10th and M) and in a matter of a few years, there were three murders around us. In fact, my husband was severely beaten (into a coma) close by.

The prostitutes don’t come around until close to 5am (construction worker clients). They are completely irrelevant to a conversation about 8pm. Although I have said it is insane to think it is unsafe to run at 8pm here, I personally wouldn’t feel safe running at5am.

These crimes are totally different. One is not anywhere close to this neighborhood - this is NOT Bloomingdale. And the other was a craigslist setup.
