Not just chasing, darling. I’ve been amazed at how easy it’s been since my divorce three years ago. It’s a different world from 2003 when I got married. Wish I’d joined it sooner. |
So true. Women grow resentful after years of cleaning up after their husband and doing the majority of the child care, resentment kills libido. Men pay the price for laziness in the long run. |
And lots of sexless women out there "sharing details about her day" to a cat. Want to keep a relationship with a normal/healthy man? This means regular sex. Not interested? Fine, keep talking to the cat. |
Liar. |
Where did I blame my wife for anything? I was, and remain, committed to fixing any problems on my end. I am entitled to pursue a sex life... if my wife is not interested, then Yes, I am entitled to pursue sex outside the marriage. My decision to open the marriage was no more a threat than my wife's decision to not want sex yet remain married. To answer your question: Yes, I am married, and have been for a long time. Same wife! Here's the thing: all these women who "lose their libido" would DEFINITELY find it very soon after divorcing. I've witnessed this many times over. Clearly, these women are able to "find" it, provided they have sufficient motivation. Their husband just needs to motivate them. As my OB gyne said, you didn't lose your libido, your husband killed it. There is no pill for that. |

Men can procreate until their 80s or 90s so your argument is only valid for women. This is why so many men eventually trade in their over-40yo wives for a younger girlfriend with an interest in sex. |
So you did the mature thing by explicitly telling your husband precisely what he was doing to kill your libido with specific actionable ways that he should change, whereupon your fantastic sexlife resumed? Or you promptly divorced him? Or issued him a permanent Hall Pass? No, you just quietly stuck around, expecting him to keep meeting your needs while you ignore his. Sorry it does not work that way: I can predict your marital future. |
You are not going to threaten or punish a wife into enjoying sex with you. Sex in all in women's heads. Women hold grudges in their heads. |
My DH asked me to ask my gyne if there was a female Viagra pill. My doctor said she gets that question frequently. I have been going to her for 25 years, she delivered my kids. She knows me. I've done 100% of the birthing, 90% of the child care, 100% of the cooking, 90% of the cleaning, 50% + of the financing and I'm exhausted after decades of marriage and parenting. I'm not surprised that my husband libido is not spent. I own 100% of the vag, so I've let it retire. |

Ironically, or maybe not, I read somewhere that a survey of women who were married when asked if they can have a secret nd husband for o my one thing what would it be. 70% said for sex. That means the other guy doing all the other stuff isn’t looked at in a sexual manner. I remember Neil DeGrasse Tyson commenting on it. That shows women have a libido - just not for their husbands. This is why women have loads of sex after their divorce.
To be fair, the guys I know who were good looking and in shape didn’t do bad either. One guy is 37 and is dating and in a long term relationship with a 26 year old. She’s amazingly hot. Of course he’s an outgoing, successful fit guy so it’s no wonder. Wife “lost the her interest is sex too for whatever reason. They just grew apart I guess |
Well if he marries the 26 yo and treats her the same as the first wife, her libido will die too. Women's libidos don't die, men kill them. |

Again, this is a husband issue as much as or more than a wife issue.
You husbands are literally killing your wife's libido over and over again for years and then are OMG shocked when she shuts down sex with you later in life. She owes you nothing if you have given her nothing in return. You just don't like the natural consequence and instead of owning it and trying to fix it; you find it easier to cash in your chips and leave. Well good for you, but guess what. All that sex she wouldn't give you is given 10 times over to the next guy who hasn't killed it yet. Seriously, what makes men think they are entitled to continuous sex when they don't put in continuous effort in the day to day life. I am not talking about taking out the trash, but actually taking on 50% of the household responsibilities. If i phoned it in at work like men do in their marriages i would face consequences at work. Well your consequence at home is no sex. Enjoy your new fling for a while but if you don't change how you treat her the end result will be the same as your current wife. |

36 yo female, mother of three here
I wouldn't say I could be ok NEVER having sex again but I feel genuinely horny probably once a month (when ovulating). That's what a lot of women are working with here. Fwiw, I have sex with my husband 1-2x a week and I do always end up getting into it and having an orgasm but psyching myself up to initiating or going along with his initiation is a chore emotionally. |
