Fairfax County School Board Votes to Teach 7th Graders about 'Gender Identy'

And this is why I call you a fucktard bigot. Send your kid to the christian school, or home school . YOU ARE THE PROBLEM WITH SOCIETY.

No, YOU are the bigot, and YOU are the problem with society. Not only can you not articulate your position without using profanity, but you also think it's okay to make fun of people with intellectual disabilities in the process--a group of people that is even more vulnerable and even less able to stick up for themselves than trans. Shame on you, PP.

So go pound sand.

Sounds like YOU are the one who should homeschool....

I don't even live in Virginia and I LOVE these threads! Go, FCPS!

I am so glad there is an uproar. Because fcps isn't going to change what they've set their mind to, and the bigots will make themselves known so the rest of us can avoid them. (Unless IRL they pretend not to be bothered ...)

None of the PPs have shown how it actually impacts them or their kids aside from them having to ~talk~ about things they don't like and run the risk that their kids might not be bigots like them, because they have no proof, evidence, or anything useful to say.

Keep on keeping on, whiners. It is way more fun to watch a grown adult tantrum than a toddler.

I am so glad my kids never went to public schools.

11:17 again. I have to say that I agree with this. I've not heard from those who object to this exactly how it impacts them. It's not enough to say there's an impact, you have to describe/show/demonstrate an impact. Vehemence is not a substitute for discussion.

Because I don't want my government, in the form of a public school curriculum, lying to me or my kids. When we so blindly accept that, we, as a society, are done.

This is the 'lie' that you're crusading against? I can think of much more significant 'lying' that has a real impact on me - not telling me about the OPM data breach, domestic spying, Iraq's nuclear weapons, etc. Hell, your energy would be better spent advocating for better preschool for all kids or improved interventions for kids with LDs. The homosexual/transgender thing is really a molehill when you look at things rationally and pragmatically.

Well, that's a very good point and I do agree with you. But the homosexual/ transgender agenda is the one that we are discussing here.

There will always be something you don't agree with, and the school system won't always back down because you don't like it. So ... what is your long term plan in such situations?

Sure you did.

You do not hav eto believe it, but it is what happened to me. And I do not see it as different from a LGBT youth being teased/beaten up. In both cases, it is part of who we are. I am Jewish. Unlike a LGBT person, I could chose to change my belief on any day. Those that do not see the parallel argument jot don't get it. And should be ignored. Thank you FCPS!

How can you call this a parallel argument, and yet state the circumstances are different?

And why should anyone who doesn't agree with you be ignored? Because you have it all figured out? Frankly, you still sound bitter about what you say happened to you 40+ years ago. Not exactly a great basis for making rational decisions now.

Actually, my rationality is that, if your actions do not impact me, and you are not hurting anyone, you should be free to be whatever. An LGBT person does not impact me, and does not harm anyone. They should be accepted.

As a jew, me being jewish does not impact you and does not hurt anyone....it should be no problem (and is not today).

In 1975, people took me being jewish as something that had to be fixed....something that is wrong. The bible says Christ is the savior, how can you believe otherwise? Yet, my bible did not say that.

Today, 2015, you are saying LBGT are not natural, and need to be fixed. That something is wrong. The bible says that.

See the parallelism?

But these actions DO impact me, and they impact my kids. I don't want them being taught that transgenderism is OK, normal, fine, tolerable, acceptable or any other current day PC BS. What part of that don't you understand? And if you can't see the difference in being born into one of the world's three great religions that dates back thousands of years, and is constructed as an organized means to worship God -- versus someone with a penis thinking well hey I sure do wish I had a vagina, so I'm going to castrate myself to prove to the world that my "feelings" are more meaningful than the facts of reality -- well, I can't help you.
This x 1 million. Also, I doubt the "Jewish is the same as transgender" poster is actually Jewish. He/she is a trans mental patient desperate to find a way to make trans sound legitimate. Jews and Christiams aren't mentally ill, trans people are. Major difference!

Serious question for the people who think transgender is a lie - do you also believe that homosexuality is a lie? Is that part of what you're objecting to?

Why? It seems every bit as mentally "ill" to me to believe that you are somehow the "chosen people" of an all-powerful God, or the notion that God decided to send his offspring down to earth one time thousands of years ago for a 30-year guest appearance, than to identify more with the opposite gender, despite the genitalia you were born with.

You forgot to add the virgin birth.....yeah, sure, she was a virgin.....

And, Jesus' mother was okay with him not finding a nice Jewish girl to settle down with and raise a family.....I always wondered why that was never brought up.
