Glad you’ve had a cushy job for years but this is not about you. There are people making $50K a year cleaning the facilities and contractors who (unlike Feds) will NOT get back pay at all.

I was all for the Ds holding the line but enough is enough.

DC/MD/VA needs to order employers to stop withholding Federal taxes, and use local funds to keep people afloat until this crisis (MAGA) is over.

I completely agree. The time for "corporate" Democrats and moderate Democrats is over. The GOP has been crazy pants for the last 8+ years and any decent GOP politicians have gone to spend more time with family.

If we could’ve had it go on for another couple months, we would’ve had people rioting for food, losing their homes, unable to travel, possibly martial law declaration , all of which would’ve enraged the public to the point of a general strike by the public. Trump would’ve been forced to resign.

All of this is slowly occurring already. It is concerning that a significant chunk of our country simply cannot afford food if the government shuts its lights off. Eventually, republicans will trigger people to lose their healthcare. The economy sucks. At a minimum, people ask going to have to start asking politicians to do something about inequality.
