teachers leaving Wootton?

I went through the staff directory and only noticed a few names missing among teachers. The most noticeable changes were admin (expected) and counselors (not expected). I can’t figure out how there are 33 missing.

What is counselors leaving not expected? Did the counselors leave the district, or transfer to another school?

All 6 counselors went (1 will be going soon) to other MCPS schools.

Did anyone from central office ask why they left? Is it a poor resource counselor?

The Resource Counselor was one of the 6 who left. Earlier in this thread there was some discussion of what would happen in the Counseling Office last year. Counselors felt like it was difficult to work under the circumstances and that when they tried to stop it, they were accused of being discriminatory. So apparently many of them voted with their feet. There is a new Social Worker and a new School Psychologist as well. Maybe someone knows where they went or why they left?

Can you share the initials of the counselor leaving as of today? I’m concerned it is DS’s new counselor. His old counselor (who we loved) left over the summer. I’ll be upset if his counselor changes again.

Huh? Where are you getting 7 from? 35+ staff voluntarily left to get jobs at different schools because of the climate in the building. A couple retired and a couple were involuntarily transferred/ position cut.
