More exodus. 2 addition teacher vacancies posted this week. |
Heard that the new admin are reaching out to the students to tell them how to be a straight A student. Seems to me that the students know that... they need more focus on how to balance academics with other things... in other words, how to reduce anxiety.
Not sure that this admin team has the pulse of the student. Maybe they are just doing things they did at previous schools without differentiating for Wootton. |
But Bostic’s priority is that the school gets back to 5 stars. |
Because that is Taylor’s priority. Bostic will move heaven and earth to get Wooton back to 5 stars. Next stop, district superintendent. If you know Bostic, you know he is ambitious. |
Isn't getting to five stars a good goal? |
It is a great goal, but there are many measures that go into determining 4 star vs 5 star status. The data shows on Maryland Report Card data base that one of the lower scoring sections is how students in the EML program are doing. I would think it would be better to make sure that group is getting and accessing the support they need rather than pushing students who are already doing so much to do even more. |
How many total teachers / counselors have left now? |
Well into the 40s |
Could that be accurate? Looking at the staff directory, there is just over 100 total teachers and counselors. |
+1. Late 40s. |
It’s only the third week of school. Teachers leaving after the start of a new school year is a massive red flag. I am hoping Dr. Bostic will be successful but he has a very weak link on his team. The AP from Magruder is inexperienced, lacks integrity, is lazy and sloppy and has no business being in admin. He’s a new principal and should have been given a more competent team. |
The positions of those who left were staffed with new individuals. |
not certified experienced teachers.... |
Teachers can't transfer anymore so these were either retirements or resignations |
Then it really must be bad. |
