What do we do??

Do what Canada did. The new Prime Minister as his first act got rid of the national carbon tax.

Democrats need to drop their lefty nonsense.

Dems didn’t run on a pro trans platform

Democrats failed to distance themselves from the excesses of the trans movement. They also failed to recognize the extent that Republicans had been successful at convincing Americans that illegal immigration was a huge crisis.

No normal person knows what the "party platform" is. Democrats allowed themselves to be defined by Republican talking points.

And frankly, it's important to acknowledge that a sizeable percentage of people (and voters) are not very nice, so you can't rely on pointing out that Trump is awful to win elections. A lot of people like his awfulness, unfortunately.

True. Biden is an even nastier than Trump. At least Trump is funny.

It's not popularity. It's fighting for the Constitution itself. If people don't care about it, maybe this form of government was too much for them.

Democrats aren’t famous for loving the Constitution. In fact, they’ve long resented the bitter clingers who do.

I think PP is talking about the 2nd Amendment.

There is a reason the Constitution has Amendments, PP, and a system for it. And sometimes those reasons change. The right to bear arms is directly linked to the need for a well-amred militia. As there is no longer a militia and as our own army is well-armed to protect the people, many of us think the 2nd Amendment is obsolete.

Elections in 2026 and 2028 if they are still fairly held.
And otherwise it has to be civil war.

What if fair elections in 2026, 2028, and 2032 are fairly held and republicans win? At what point is it okay for a moral minority to go to war to protect migrant rights and trans rights and civil servant paycheck rights?!

DP, but my main issue is how things are being done unlawfully.

If the country decides to dismantle federal agencies then it should be done through congressional action. If we’re going to hunt out waste, fraud, and abuse it shouldn’t be done by a billionaire with significant conflicts of interest. And so on.

I don’t think I will ever just accept the trashing of our government to benefit the rich. It’s not just about immigrants and trans rights.

The flyover state taxpayer perspective is different.

1) Not “just” about illegal immigtants and trans rights? Taxpayer-funded government shouldn’t be about those thing AT ALL. Do it in your free time with your own money

2) Neither party has done audits or cost cuts or layoffs in 30 years. All are overdue. Complaining about the “process” sounds to taxpayers like a cover for wanting all spending to continue forever

3) Everything Democrats did during Covid funneled money to billionaires. Millions of small businesses for forced into bankruptcy, not by the virus but by the blue state responses. A lot if gov spending under Dems goes to enrich the rich. That’s one thing the Republicans are auditing. All of this already happened. It’s not true that all the cost cutting savings are just going to be funnelled toElon Musk, although Dems talk like their partisan prediction for the future is established fact.

1) Dems didn’t run on a pro trans platform, only the republicans bought it up as propaganda. Also Trump killed a bipartisan border bill. He doesn’t want to solve anything, he wants to stoke fear so he can remain in power. And if you’re ok with the government being haphazardly destroyed and the constitution trashed to get your way, then you’re an anti-American piece of trash.

2) Audits are overdue. But making up lies about 150 year olds receiving SS benefits and using the audit as a guise to award the *person doing the audit* contracts without competing is the definition of corruption.

3) I don’t disagree there is corruption in the dem party and things have only gotten worse since Citizens United. My family was personally harmed by the COVID response. I’m certainly not a dem apologist and would have considered voting for a more moderate conservative.

But being upset about the pandemic response doesn’t justify antagonizing our allies, aligning with Putin, firing feds for fake “performance issues,” crashing the economy, threatening to not listen to the judicial branch, making jokes about being a king and saying we won’t have to vote again, etc.

And no one thinks the “savings” (of which there is very little) is being funneled to Musk. But he is using DOGE as a means to award his companies tons of money.

Literally the rest of the world (aside from Russia) can see how absurd this administration is. We are becoming an international warning story.

YES to everything PP says. (I am not a dem apologist either and would prefer something more to the left - but we can all see this.)

This. What makes me question those who say they are republican and want "small government" and they want the government to stay out of their lives "don't tread on me" You sure voted for a party who is all about going back to a king/dictator style country. you all seem to be rooting for people to tread all over you or did you vote thinking they would just "tread" all over the people you discriminate against. This is why people say FAFO-because the billionaires are coming for you MAGAs too-so congrats on your vote and you should feel ashamed.

NEWSFLASH: We are not ashamed! We love watching Trump right all the wrongs of Biden. We love watching you cry about it and call us MAGA. We love being MAGA!

Please carry on with the whining while I make some more popcorn.

I know many MAGA who are ashamed just because you are a disgusting human doesn't mean all are. People are starting to wake up Elon. The normal decent humans laugh at you every day-enjoy your popcorn and peanuts watching the circus you voted for. Your clown doesn't look well though-hope he can climb some stairs this week.
