Apply that same concept now. Save your pennies, prepare an extended emergency fund, make sure you have precious metals and cash at home, along with a gun, ammunition, and at least a couple weeks of water per person living in your household.

Try to be as independent as possible, so you can lay low for the next few years until the TrumpCessions and TrumpPurges are over.

Gee, you sound like a conservative. We've always lived spend thrifty, independent and had a substantial emergency fund.

Welcome aboard. Sorry it took Donald Trump to unscrew you.

PP here.

I am a moderate who loathes Trump. All of my suggestions are ones I have personally followed for many years--mainly due to growing up in a hurricane and tornado prone area.

There are plenty of conservatives who live well above their means. I live in a working class Florida neighborhood where the pickup trucks cost more than the houses and suicide rates skyrocket during recessions.

The billionaires rode the Dems for decades. Now they’ve changed sides. Obviously the big shots don’t expect Dems back in power any time soon.

They'll be back in 2028 when it's obvious a Dem will be in power for the next POTUS term thanks to Trump's repeat of the easy 2020 election victory gift he gave us.

This isn't just Trump issue, there are a lot of people who voted for him. It's no use denying this. You can protest and make phone calls, but I truly believe that the only way out is through. Give MAGA the wheel and let them drive the country off a cliff. Focus on tending your garden and keeping yourself sane and healthy.

Sometimes you just have to step back and let the wild fires burn themselves out.

This!

Country is too polarized and maybe when everyone is suffering, they will come together.

That doesn't magically fix all of the things Trump is breaking.

Sticking your head in the sand is no cure.

Everyone needs to wear a visible safety-pin.

We have to respond DAILY to Trump. WEMOD? what would Michelle Obama do? Trump goes low, she goes high. We need to take up space like she does, resist like she does, sass like she does. And maybe, just maybe, we can save the world.

I'm not sure if this is a serious poster or if we are being trolled.

Ha, I was going to ask the same thing. It is wild (and acary) that there may actually be people out there who think this way. The bubble here is unmatched.

What to do?
Buy absolutely nothing that's not essential for life.

Home decor? No.
Random replacement of appliances to just look better? No.
Buying things to redecorate for a new style? No.
Groceries? Yes
Health car Yes.

Think of it as practice for the next few years when prices go out of control and salaries stagnant. You might want to have some extra money saved for emergencies.

"electoral and popular vote" poster is a bot spamming many threads. Report or ignore it.

NOPE right back at you

Trump is doing an excellent job of this. The services to Americans gutted to give money back to billionaires, that makes us 3rd world now.

You probably haven't traveled much.

3rd world countries aren't so bad if you are rich. It's every one else who gets screwed. That's us now. Enjoy. I feel like you aren't rich

I would suggest investing in back-up power options too. Solar with batteries. National gas generators. The next thing to go is the electric grid. Not in a sabotage event, or even an incompetence event. Thanks to the aging infrastructure and failure of regulation to keep up, the powers that be will deem the data centers worthy of the power we have, and the rest of us will suffer rolling blackouts.

Dems created Tesla, and they can protest it too.

Dems need to do some soul searching. How important are trans folk to us? Because they aren’t doing us any favors with flyover state voters.
