When we see where the moneys from, I'd guess it's a negligible amount from W6 voters (who elected CA unopposed less than 2 years ago).

This has been amazing though for republicans who want to dunk on the city if you look around social media, so there's that.

I think you underestimate how pissed regular Ward 6 democrats are by the amount of violent crime in the city and Allen’s response to it.

This! I would add that there is a visceral response to Allen because of his holier than though attitude (but look at his wife and associate’s “nonprofits”).

More than anything people can tell his every statement drips with contempt for his voters.

Like Nadeau, Allen is of the “let them eat cake” school of a local politician.

ATVs terrorizing the neighborhood and school age children?
If you can afford a house, you can afford to sound insulate.

Bullets flying into your condo walls?
You got what you deserved, gentrifier.

Cars smashed and carjacked?
Gus guzzling troglodytes, get a bike.

People getting shot in restaurants?
Eat uninspected food from the street vendors.

Local drugstore getting robbed?
Buy the adulterated products from the unprosecutable street “resellers”

Meanwhile, one coherent thought or action on schools, housing, crime?
To busy prosecuting cops, freeing Palestine, and declaring grown men juveniles.

The other thread has some interesting info on the wife and the associates and the nonprofits that seem to exist to pay their salaries

This is a really sad, but quite accurate, summation of Nadeau/Allen political positions.

Not to be overstating dcum as the weatherwane, but if these threads have been left and not deleted, the wind has turned and recall has legs.

Any safety loving resident, anyone attempting to raise a family in DC, or anyone who cares about your property value needs to donate what you can to this recall effort. We don’t live in Ward 6, but we still donated. There’s not much time left to fix this.

I would say that the amount of money they've raised proves the recall has legs. Allen clearly knows this because he's suddenly presenting himself as very "tough" on crime, even completely reversing himself on his former stances (which should alarm his supporters more than his detractors).

He is a democrat.

If you don't live in Ward 6, this sounds like fraud. Can we get the government to freeze these accounts?

NP here. How is it fraud as a DC resident donating to a local DC campaign? I could donate if I lived in CA, if the cause was something I cared about. This is how politics works. Allen's policies impact me as a DC resident, and I want him gone. Then, we come for Nadeau, Frumin and JLG.

In fact, your post is so infuriating that I think I'll fire off those donations right now. Thanks!

His policies have screwed up the whole city.

Hey Elissa Silverman or her ilk with the predictable post, lame and silly. Silverman will never hold office in this town again, no matter how many times she tweets "MAGA" at people. If things do not change, and soon, a shrinking number of DSA champions will be supporting a growing number of those in need of services. CRE revenue is plummeting, tourism and middle class taxpayers are not a given. Here since the 90s and remember how things were. Endless "boom times" can turn.

Exactly. ANYONE anywhere can donate to the campaign. Only Ward 6 residents can sign the recall petitions.
