m If you feel the world is against you which frankly is greatly exaggerated, then the best way forward is to figure out a peaceful strategy. Annihilating innocent women and children is not going to win you any friends. The NY Times said that 70% of the dead in Gaza are children. |
Sure how many Jews were killed in Israel on Oct 7? Does not seem safe at all. Oh and the same people who let that happen are still in charge. I seriously wonder if Israel is prepared to defend its northern border after the fiasco in Gaza. I know maybe you can pass laws that make it illegal to talk bad about Israel in the US. No freedom of speech here because that is not valued in Israel. You can arrest and burn down the houses of those you feel break the new laws. No need for a trial, you can just tell who the bad ones are…right? |
+1 Israel and anyone reflexively defending them does not have the moral high ground. Antisemitism is wrong but Israelis bullying Gazans isn’t going to right that. And seriously good luck with the GOP for those of you claiming to be Jewish and claiming that you’ll definitely vote for the GOP. The internet being what it is, I assume some of you always were Republicans and thus your “I’m never voting for another Democrat again” is meaningless, but for those of you who are really going to cast their lot with the GOP? Seriously. Good luck with that. That is gazelles voting for leopards. |
Christian person here. I support you 100%. |
22 democrats and 1 republican voted against the house resolution for antisemitism on campuses. This is disgusting.
OP, you have my support. Students should be able to attend college without having their life theatened. |
perhaps folks should focus on the 23 people (vote them out) than trying to tie this to an entire party. |
Seems to me the math in your scenario is off. If the IRS budget is 12 billion, and they are getting 80 billion over 10 years that means 8 billion per year. It DOES NOT mean they get a lump sum of 80 billion that they then can sit on like a dragon hoarding gold. What it means is their budget becomes 12 billion + 8 billion, which is 20 billion. Now, if you take 12 billion of that and give it to Israel, that means their next year budget went from 12 billion to 8 billion. So it is in fact a cut for the coming year. And before you go on about "Yabut their budget will go up to 20 the following year" there are in fact no such guarantees, particularly as Congress monkeys with the budget every single year. |
I am so upset by this because when PPs post things like “if you are a Jew it’s on you to figure this out” I don’t quite know what to say. I am not an Israeli citizen. I am not a Middle East expert. I cannot figure this out. I mean why don’t you call on all the Palestinian supporters to figure out how to peacefully get rid of Hamas? |
I’m a Jew with a trans Jewish kid. While I understand the criticism against Netanyahu, I feel like all of the queer people saying free Palestine (like ok…so where are the Jews supposed to go then) should just go live in Arab states and see how long they stay alive.
I can’t vote Republican but I admit I’m hating all the young liberals who have absolutely no understanding of the complexity and longevity of this conflict but speak with perfect authority. |
None of what you wrote has anything to do with what I wrote. I didn’t say figure it out. I said to those few Jewish people happy to vote for the “Jews Will Not Replace Us” party, for the Moms of Liberty party that is happy to strip Jewish heritage books from schools, the “very fine people on both sides”: good luck. You’re going to need it if the GOP wins, you’re going to need it here in the States where you live, not in Israel. |
Did the NY Times say that, or did the NY Times say that the MInistry of Health in Gaza (aka Hamas) said that? |
or their anti-LGBTQIA or their racism against non-white people, or their lack of support for gun sense. |
We were in US when GOP won the White House, why are you posting these threats? There were no threats to Jewish people when Trump was in power. None of the members of congress threatened jewish back then either. |
💯 |
Because we never feel safe anywhere we live, and the idea of Israel existing, gives us a sense of security. |
