Why can't police find the escaped prisoner in Philly?

Anonymous
He should NOT be able to highjack a car - this has nothing to do with ordinary citizens being reckless. This has to do with LEOs who provide for the safety of ordinary citizens doing their jobs. Admittedly it was smart citizens aren't helping the efforts but this is NOT the job responsibility they are charged with, it's police.

It’s ridiculous that people in the area couldn’t secure their weapons though. Good lord.

Immediate fine for any gun that is not secured. Charges if their unsecured gun is stolen and used in a crime.

The fact that this guy has eluded LE for so long is truly just an embarrassment. Police have more technological toys at their disposal than ever before (drones?!) and they can't find this guy. It is so, so sad. And now we have gun owners who don't know how to secure their weapons or fire their weapons. This country is hopeless.

There is nothing about his crab walking video that looked Black. You likely assumed he was Black. Really.

Yeah, again I need PP to explain how she thought he was black. Even with his curly hair out, he’s not black or AA presenting whatsoever. I’m an AA fwiw.

Not PP. but he is very clearly BIPOC. Which means he is in great danger from the police just executing him, and getting away with it.

Maybe they will shoot him because he’s a 2 time murderer, prison escapee with a gun, not because he’s BLPOC.

Everyone makes mistakes, right? That doesn’t justify getting the death penalty from racist cops.

Escaping from prison doesn't exactly imply that he has learned from any of his mistakes.

Murdering two people isn't "a mistake."

Anonymous wrote:As guessed buy some on this thread, he was shot by a homeowner. This is on NBC. He was found in their garage and they shot him. Good for the homeowner.

They missed and it would have been a lot better if they didn’t have a loaded gun unsecured in their garage in the first place.

And this is confirmed? That the rifle was loaded? That it was not secured in any way? That the garage was already open?

This is all very fascinating to watch unfold. Just fascinating. And the police. Shake my head.

He was able to just take the gun. Couldn’t have been that secure.

It sounds like the homeowner was in the garage too. Maybe he was getting his weapons out and loading them because of this murderer roaming around.

Read the police statement two posts directly above your own:
At approximately 10:10 pm, a call was received from a resident on Coventryville Road, indicating a short Hispanic male, wearing dark pants and no shirt, [b] had entered an opened garage while the homeowner was inside. The male grabbed a .22 rifle with a scope that was leaning in the corner of the garage.

[...]

Cavalcante is considered armed and extremely dangerous. He is now armed with a .22 caliber rifle with a scope and a flashlight mounted on it.

It is likely that the gun was loaded when he took it. He hasn't exactly had time to go and buy ammunition.

At this point, I'm afraid he's going to walk right into a school ...

Or he was possibly in the middle of cleaning and maintaining his weapons.

Really, such benevolence. You are speculating.

He has zero incentive to do that.
