Maret and former Whittle students?

Here comes the ridiculer again. Sorry, hon, it doesn’t work

The school is doing just fine, filled with great kids, teachers and families and is as competitive as it has ever been.

To those joining next year, welcome and congrats.

I agree. But the new HoS and his wife do not deserve the same

+1 I have about as much sympathy for the parents as I do for the bitcoin bros who lost all their money. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Lol bitcoin was trading 1 to $1 early on and went to 1 to $64k. Those bro made bank. I am very sympathetic to any family who ended up a Whittle. It seem you hate people who drive a “overpriced luxury SUVs”.

I myself drive an overpriced luxury SUV, so believe me, no hate there. I struggle to have sympathy for parents who tossed their kid into an unproven school run by a proven crook and expected anything other than a complete disaster. So much was public about how awful Whittle was as a person and business leader. The fact that these parents chose to disregard all of that and then got stung does not make me sympathetic at all. Gamble all you want with your money. Gambling with your kids’ education? That’s on you.

They were just trying to do better for their kids. Why would you care? It’s just petty of you.

It’s the hypocrisy for me. Shame on Bisgaard for even stepping foot into Whittle in the first place. He’s so awful to have even associated himself with Whittle. Shows terrible judgment and moral failings. But the parents who sent their kids there? Just trying to do right by their kids.

+1

Only he didn’t just step in. He created every bit of it

I actually suspect the sarcastic ridiculer is a Bisgaaed. It’s on brand if you’ve ever heard them at Whittle.

Why is it so hard to imagine a normal, inspirational, untainted leader for Maret? It is a great school, it costs a lot to do a search for the new head so why??!

Flip the coin. Imagine being in the middle of this and never acknowledging your role or the suffering of many. That’s despicable. As a casual observer and a parent, I’m disgusted.

It’s like being quiet about abuse in a church and going on to the next one without a word. Being quiet if not complicit. I think they are on the face of it complicit in the Whittle failure. And complicit for personal gain, it’s absolutely depraved

I think it was cool if Maret accepted some of the whittle kids. Other schools should have considered them too, since Whittle was faking like they would continue until the last minute, not giving the current students time to apply out.
Some of them applied out because their parents caught on to what was happening, but if they listened to and believed what the administration was saying, they were f’d.
It wasn’t cool what Whittle did.

Maret HoS’s wife WAS faking right with Whittle and HoS didn’t say a thing. That’s the problem here! Not the Whittle kids, I agree

They were even taking new applications and drumming up the tuition and donations — HoS and 3 other families. So their kids can graduate and so the HoS wife gets paid as the Special Advisor to the HoS to the bitter end.

The administration = Manny and Monica (HoS). That’s it. Fully culpable. It’s pathetic to let them go to Maret next.

Are Maret parents really completely disenfranchised? I’m just trying to understand how can there be any accountability when someone is the head for 29 years (?!) and then finally a chance for someone new and modern and you pick Whittle Jr.?!

As a Maret parent, I did not understand the decision to pick this person as the new HoS. I also can say that I didn't think that any of the candidates were stellar, and I was surprised that the school didn't take more time and/or with the people that it picked. But, I was not on the Committee, so I do not know what went on behind the scenes. i've gone through HoS searches at two other schools, both of which presented IMO "better candidates" including a few people who I thought would have been great at Maret. I don't know the basis for the selection, but I was surprised

HoS stayed several years too long and kept a wall of sycophants around.

So the old HOS was bad but the new HOS is worst? What about the assistant JV field hockey coach? Surely she can not escape your judgement? I think it was the farmers market. Those people are all hippies.

I don’t yet have an opinion on the new head, but the outgoing head outlived her usefulness by quite some time. Surrounding herself with people who never pushed back did not help.

To the quoted snarky PP above. No opinion on the old head. Just that 29 years is not a tenure but a dictatorship.

The old head maybe was not bad, but the new one for sure is with ample evidence.

Wow what a sock puppet thread.
Anonymous
Does not seem that way.

Why don’t the parents start a survey? They could black out the names if fearing retribution and just report the numbers or do an anonymous survey to pressure the board to reopen the HoS search?

The stuff that has come out since the decision was made (well before Whittle collapsed) is enough to reconsider.
