The lawsuits are not against Maret. They are related to the Whittle school, and the new Maret head worked at Whittle, so everyone is pissing themselves about the choice. Maret could have done better, but it’s not a reason to panic. It’s still a good school and will be a good school. Congrats to your DC. Everything will be fine. |

They picked the new HoS before Whittle imploded and the exposes were published.

Are they serious time-consuming lawsuits that would make him not be able to do his job? Are the teachers & staff excited to have this new HOS? Were they involved in choosing him? Is his wife also working at Maret? Are all Maret parents worried or just some very vocal? In your parent groups is this discussed much or just a few DCUM people getting vocal? |

How could Maret possibly be liable for what Chris Whittle/Dennis Bisgard/Monica Bisgard or Whittle School did? Maret will not be liable. Non-lawyers should not speculate when they have no idea what they're talking about. |

Yes, teachers and staff were involved in hiring him. No his wife doesn't work at Maret but he talked about her too much in the talk he gave to parents/alums during his interview process. I haven't met a single Maret parent who is happy about the new head. I suggest that anyone new families w/ questions contact the head of the Board and the head of the search committee. They should have to explain their choice to new families deciding whether to choose Maret. |
