| Does this mean there are open spots at maret? |
I’m starting to trust these anonymous internet posters more than the committee at Maret that diligenced the new HoS selection and the other schools he’s worked at since leaving Whittle. Can I negotiate my enrollment contract with Maret so I can get my money back if I decide to leave because all of this becomes public in a credible way and my prestige is damaged by being associated with the new HoS? How flexible are schools on amending their form enrollment contracts? |
No. Overenrolled due to all of the auto-admits of former Whittle students. |
| There was a family in our DC's fifth grade class who made a big to-do about how they were sending their kid to Whittle because our school school just wasn't up to their standards. Left in their overpriced luxury SUV making lots of noise. That lasted two years then the Whittle scam collapsed. Did a lot of us feel good about it? You bet. |
|
It’s sort of base and transparent when the only response to very legitimate concerns is to ridicule the posters. That’s because the substance is undeniable.
There is no reason for anyone to leave Maret. They were all their first. There is every reason to petition to remove the HoS, ideally before he starts and to ensure his wife has nothing to do with the school. |
+1 I have about as much sympathy for the parents as I do for the bitcoin bros who lost all their money. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. |
Yes you only have to say your kid went to whittle and you are in. It worked for a friend. She said they just mentioned that they went to Whittle during the interview. The interviewer winked and said you are in and how much of a discount would you like! |
| A couple years ago, Maret was regularly being mentioned as a Big 3/top 5 DMV private. Seems it has tumbled down the list lately. What happened? Why did it fall off? |
|
What happened is that one insane, lonely and aggrieved poster created and hijacked a thread on an anonymous message board.
The school is doing just fine, filled with great kids, teachers and families and is as competitive as it has ever been. To those joining next year, welcome and congrats. |
Lol bitcoin was trading 1 to $1 early on and went to 1 to $64k. Those bro made bank. I am very sympathetic to any family who ended up a Whittle. It seem you hate people who drive a “overpriced luxury SUVs”.
|
I myself drive an overpriced luxury SUV, so believe me, no hate there. I struggle to have sympathy for parents who tossed their kid into an unproven school run by a proven crook and expected anything other than a complete disaster. So much was public about how awful Whittle was as a person and business leader. The fact that these parents chose to disregard all of that and then got stung does not make me sympathetic at all. Gamble all you want with your money. Gambling with your kids’ education? That’s on you. |
They were just trying to do better for their kids. Why would you care? It’s just petty of you. |
It’s the hypocrisy for me. Shame on Bisgaard for even stepping foot into Whittle in the first place. He’s so awful to have even associated himself with Whittle. Shows terrible judgment and moral failings. But the parents who sent their kids there? Just trying to do right by their kids. |
HoS stayed several years too long and kept a wall of sycophants around. |
So the old HOS was bad but the new HOS is worst? What about the assistant JV field hockey coach? Surely she can not escape your judgement? I think it was the farmers market. Those people are all hippies. |
