Why would they care? Its very informative….though not about Maret.

Fraud, conspiracy to defraud, unjust enrichment, bribery, who knows? Rico?

He did have a career before Whittle, and a career since Whittle. He resigned from Whittle and gave up a million dollar package to not be part of what he saw happening. Certainly, he had accomplishments across his career that the search committee at Maret was impressed by and eclipsed his association with Whittle. The Board at Maret approved him. Give the dude a year or two, folks. See what he’s like before piling on all the hatred. You’re welcome.

Just stop. His wife stayed to the bitter end, was paid and part of the inner circle. This is not a clean hands situation.
Maret reputation can only suffer under these two. It was completely unnecessary and someone paid someone. Follow the $

You talk like she committed a crime. Tell me what her crime was. I’m very interested. I think the bigger threat to the reputation of Maret is people that come here to spew vitriol and rumors and be derisive without having ever met the guy. Go ask your search committee and your board what qualities the HoS has that were more important than his time at Whittle. Certainly there must’ve been a lot of applicants for the job at Maret. That would be a lot more productive for you. But you might learn some things that mitigate your anger and maybe you’re not looking for that.

But you see that’s exactly it?! In no plausible scenario would he have been picked fair and square. There’s smoke and a large dumpster fire.

OMG. You don’t hear yourself. You’re a full on conspiracy theorist. Q? You know nothing about the search or other candidates but you have these assumptions. Go talk to your search committee. Go talk to your board. And give the guy the benefit of an open mind. For a year. You might be surprised.

Breach of contract etc.

Someone should get the inside story of the Maret selection too. $ connections favors connect the dots

Not a conspiracy. Ask anyone who was around those last few months. I have a right to my informed opinion.

The point is that he doesn’t deserve a year. Not in DC and not in a school like Maret

Why do you think it is a Maret parent? This poster seems to be a Whittle parent. A Maret parent would not care or know the details about Whittle. You really think a Maret parent is following the $$ and tracking the inner circle of rich parents kids at Whittle?

RICO?! You all are too much…

Please don't feed this troll. They've been at it since at least this past summer when they claimed that the wrongdoing by Whittle, the new Maret HoS, his wife (wtf?), some shadow committee of parents, etc. was so horrible, so obviously fraudulent, etc. that "any day now" litigation and lawsuits would start flying. We'd see all the horror once discovery peels back the curtain. There were fights then about plaintiff's lawyers, contingency cases, Rule 11 and pleadings (yes, seriously), etc.

Since the flood of slam dunk lawsuits obviously didn't happen (I'm sure there's a new conspiracy theory as to why), they're now trying out conspiracy theories about hordes of Whittle students being admitted to Maret with preferential treatment. When the thread that apparently floated this nonsense was deleted yesterday, this person just had to nonchalantly start a new thread to make sure it's bumped to the top of the main Board. Maybe they're just a concerned parent of a Maret student or potential new student who really cares about where the newly admitted Maret students went to school 2-3 years ago. But maybe it's the same troll. I'm guessing the latter.

It's the same old, same old. Wash, rinse, repeat. I'm just shocked they didn't lean in harder on the Great Tree Removal Scandal of 2022.

Former Whittle students we know did not land at Maret

The 3-4 extremely wealthy and connected families running the inner circle advisory committee with the new Maret HoS wife and Whittle to the bitter end helped get him this job in exchange for their keeping the doors open and lying to the other parents until their seniors could graduate. One of the kids got into Georgetown out of Whittle. $$$$ Follow the $ and the favors

Omg. Where’d you come up with that?

Amazingly, the IP address shows that the posts are coming from the basement at Comet Ping Pong. Not coincidentally, Comet Ping Pong is across the street from the Whittle site and a short distance down Connecticut to Maret.

It simply can’t be coincidental.

Possibly one of DCUM’s finest comebacks here!

Whoever is posting, they have certainly been successful in getting Maret parents to show a very unflattering side of the school. Unqualified?

You are a fantasists whose purpose is to ridicule legitimate concerns so people look away. I think there’s absolutely something to the theories. But let’s say the pair, both paid by Whittle, she until after the collapse, are clean as a whistle. Not a chance but ok, let’s assume. Has either one of the come out and said or done anything at all to protect the parents, children or the teachers from the harm they unquestionably knew was being perpetrated and the collapse they knew was coming? No.

It’s a moral failing that shouldn’t result in a failure upwards. I happen to also think there is more than that, but that is enough. I wouldn’t want them in Maret. Why? So many excellent untainted candidates

Of course you think there’s something to these theories - just like Michael Flynn may believe that Q Anon is real. That you believe it doesn’t make the theories (or you) less batshit nuts.

The glorious part of independent schools is that you have no need to go there if you think aliens are feeding admission fast passes to Bisgaard and unqualified kids. It’s all good.

As a Maret parent, I thank you for the your rigorous research but we’ll take it from here.
