I’m sure it’s a 100% accurate representation of what is going on. Of course even it is wasn’t that wouldn’t matter to you anyway. |
Wow, you’ve really fallen off the turnip truck towards your extreme ideology and theories. I greatly hope you are not employed in any kids education. |
Use of the term leftist media bubble exposes you for the witless crank that you are. |
Oh yes teaching history is really falling off the turnip truck. |
We hear that from WHITE MEN, and have for centuries. And they act through political and economic systems with far greater reach and impact than a HS freshman seminar class. I find it interesting that most of these replies are “complain to school” or “this is why we sent our son to a homogenous white boys school”. Very few posters have said they want to teach their white sons 1) why toxic masculinity is bad and their sons should avoid it, and 2) how to respond productively to potentially unfair and antagonistic criticism* being leveled at them. I think it is because they feel, in their heart of hearts, that this seminar is a temporary exercise in discomfort before they go on to embrace their destiny of masters of the world. * That is assuming OP’s teenage son is not exaggerating |
You are saying the argument is either/or. Ban it or endorse it. You are not addressing the way it is taught. You are condemning individuals without ever knowing them based on their race and gender. |
| Invite your boys to follow Joe Rogan for inspiration. He's got great insight and breaks through the bs. |
| Wowza. Hahaha. A quick look at the top 2-3 threads and now I get it. You guys are so dumb that Joe Rogan is the IQ leader. |
No, this thread is about culture at this particular school. Whatever statements on the website, book choices for classes and workshops on DEI, the school and those like it exist because parents want a non-diverse, non-inclusive environment. This is why these schools were founded (by white guys, BTW) and they continue on the same path today. |

It’s laughable that they even talk about DEI when they cost over $50k/yr. That’s not how you support diversity and inclusion.

Np, not in DC any longer but so thankful my teens are not spending much time on this during the middle and high school days. Their seminars and independent research classes are stem focused and they have amazing assemblies in various career tracks. Sorry to read all this here on the DCUM thread. |
You seem to be focused on a different problem than the one OP raised, and you seem perfectly fine letting the problem OP asked about continue. |
Do you think the PP is a professional troll intentionally making obtuse posts to stoke fear, especially of conservatives? Do real people think this way? |
How can you possibly think these are the only two ways to raise a boy? |
