OP here. As explained in several previous posts, even on-leash dogs must be "registered" to enter Rosedale. On leash dogs can enter Cathedral Grounds, also discussed above. I did not say that dogs, off leash or otherwise can enter Macomb playground (dogs do no belong on playgrounds). I did say that Macomb is very well used by a variety of people. |

Hi - Bob Ward from Cleveland Park Smart Growth here. Was just told about this thread and that it was talking about CPSG. Big fan of our non-profit community resources like Rosedale, Tregaron and the Cleveland Park Club. Not sure how CPSG got dragged into this, but it's not a discussion we would endorse, let alone start. And honestly don't see how it has anything to do with ANC races. Just reading a few of these other posts and, yikes! Probably should add while CPSG endorsed Keith Mantel, neither I or CPSG played any role in asking him to run. I first met Keith after he was a declared candidate. And for what its worth, and what I know about him, I don't think he'd appreciate being associated with this thread either.

I’m so confused. This is a difference of opinion about the dog walking policy at a park. How is this at all related to Cleveland Park Smart Growth (which is a densification and transit group and not dog owners group) or the upcoming elections (since the government isn’t going to tell the park what to do)? Am I missing something here? |
You found me "screechy" to say we don't belong to Rosedale and don't begrudge those who do? |
Take a look at any threads that might have to do with Cleveland Park. When you see conspiracy theories being espoused, like in the Conn Ave bike lane thread, just sit back and bask in it. This is one of your neighbors and they are big mad. |
And now we turn to the GGW/CPSG gaslighting phase of the discussion. |

Best, Bob Ward Cleveland Park Smart Growth (cpsmartgrowth.com)
Hi Bob from Cleveland Park Smart Growth, I don't believe a word that you just said. Signed, me and everyone else reading this thread.
I’m so confused. This is a difference of opinion about the dog walking policy at a park. How is this at all related to Cleveland Park Smart Growth (which is a densification and transit group and not dog owners group) or the upcoming elections (since the government isn’t going to tell the park what to do)? Some of the GGW smartgrowth posters who take up the most oxygen on the Cleveland Park list serve in support of bike lanes, development and the like are not CP residents. |
The thread title is literally: “Is Rosedale Conservancy run by NIMBYs?” The conspiracy theory starts with the OP, who doesn’t like NIMBYs and therefore would presumably be an ally of CPSG. The obvious next questions are: who hates NIMBYs in Cleveland Park and would accuse Rosedale of such and why. |
I don't know how you can say that with a straight face when the NIMBYs trolling this thread have posted nothing but innuendos, lies, and ad hominem attacks, and then calls other people the problem. |
| This is now the level of discourse in our neighborhood and in our micro-local elections. It makes me sad. |
Use of the term NIMBY by OP and PP is itself an ad hominem attack. It’s a derogatory term. Supporters of Rosedale didn’t start this thread. |
How is it a derogatory term or ad hominem? It very accurately describes their policy preferences. |
If it hadn’t been for Cleveland Park neighbors so pejoratively attacked and dismissed as”NIMBYs”, there would be no Rosedale Conservancy or — Tregaron. So thankful for their farsighted “policy preferences.” |
Apparently Commissioner Siddiqui himself said in a recent meeting with residents of Sedgwick Gardens that he lives in an apartment, even though technically he lives in a condo. People use the terms condo, co-op and apartment interchangeably. The point is the CP ANC has few SFH dwelling Commissioners and Rosedale isn’t open only to SFH dwellers so often vilified by Smartgrowth proponents. |
This whole homeowner vs apartment dweller (or more accurately, SFH vs multi family building resident) is overly simplistic, silly … and not a little hypocritical. For example, the current ANC chairman boasted when he ran for the DC Council that he was the only “renter” in the race. Fair enough, because he rents a pied a terre in DC - while living much of the time in the Maryland SFH that he owns. |
