If you expected that you don’t know how this process works.

Rarely do girls commit on 9/1. Top coaches will express heavy interest to their top list but they don’t usually offer positions to girls without visiting with them (and their parents) on campus first. The visits are typically where the offers for the top girls are made. Most coaches will want their top prospects to come to campus ASAP (as in this weekend — Labor Day — so be prepared to scratch those beach plans if you get the call to your dream school). Look for the top players (midfielders mostly) to start making their decisions next week thru the end of the month.

With all the chatter on here, I thought the DC area girls were locked and loaded to commit to top 10 and Ivies this morning. C'mon, M&D Black already has one to UNC. I guess DCUM is all talk. Hopefully, the rest of the discussion on this will be grounded in reality.

Nepotism defined. That you failed to mention the connection to the UNC head coach (and misrepresent it as an accomplishment of M&D) makes us sad for you.

Question tho: M&D’s Insta post earlier today promoted the recruiting stats of the 22 class. You’d think they would promote the results of the most recent class — the 23s? Any insight there?

M&D is counting both the black and red teams, and M&D Orlando into those numbers. Now they have (LBC) M&D Shore, so that's 85-90 kids each grad year under the M&D umbrella.

None of the 23’s can really be officially ID’d By The school until after NLI so maybe that’s why? Coaches can’t tweet with names but they can tweet about pickups but no naming. BTDT

Another PA goalie found a home. What’s going on with MD & VA?

um...it's september 4th, dude. chill.

Agree. This coming week and weekend is when most of wave 1 will likely commit

You also need to remember that most girls (or any girl with class) won't post a committment to social media until she has told the coaches she is turning down in person. This can take time.

Trust me -- there are alot more committments made (including Capital players) which haven't made their way to social media yet.

Wait, you are expect to tell coaches "in person" you are turning down the offer?

That doesn't seem feasible right? You mean tell them directly, not in person?

You should call them as not to burn bridges. Some kids will text this. However, this can be looked down on, especially if you have had conversations with the coach live.

Yes. I meant directly. In other words -- not text or email.

Is a call to the coach necessary if there was only a preliminary call and no offer?

If it's a coach you've talked to, you should at least text or email them to let them know your decision before they see it elsewhere. Treat them how you would want to be treated (wouldn't you want to know if they are no longer pursuing you after talking to you?). You would be surprised how many coaches ghost players. Keep you reputation and don't ghost coaches. The lacrosse community is small.

Exactly. Most recruiting directors will insist on this. You don't want to give your club a bad reputation which could impact future recruits.

Last year ECD had a 23 player they seemed to sponsor.
Was there a 24 player that ECD sponsored and had them star in their promo video?

ECD didn’t sponsor the 12. Her parents paid $$$ for that publicity.
