Yup. She’s living out some weird fantasy on DCUM. I think she likes that DCUM is super anti-alcohol for some reason.

+2 wasn’t there almost the same story a few months ago? The walking the dog thing, etc. all sounds the same.

Was thinking the exact same thing.

Sounds almost like this one to me

NP. Huh? I read the OP of that thread (not going to read all seven pages). The circumstances in the two OPs are not the same at all other than a DH who is clearly alcoholic and sneaking drinks. Read one OP, then the other. Not the same circumstances. Not even the same preferred alcohols.

If that thread's OP later described the DH drinking peppermint vodka or whatever -- is that the sole, or the biggest, connection that those of you calling "troll" see? Because you seem sadly unaware that it is not unusual for someone who wants to hide drinking to drink peppermint-flavored alcohol. It smells like breath mints and gives the drinker a chance (a dumb one, but still a chance) to use "it's just breath mints you're smelling" as a cover. I don't get why you all think that there's something amusing in that, or why you think the OP of this thread is making up that detail. The most cursory internet search will turn up many hacks for covering the smell of alcohol, and drinking peppermint alcohol (and being seen chewing mint gum or mints) is one such hack.

As for the people carping about this: "what's up with her saying he's drinking in the shower? When the alcohol is in the basement?"-- have you people never heard of flasks? They come in sizes that are incredibly easy to slip into any pocket or a waistband or anywhere. Yes, I know this from experience with someone who was expert at ensuring he had at least a small amount of alcohol with him. Everywhere.

I think a LOT of people on this thread really do not comprehend the lengths to which people will go to drink. Yet those posters here keep opining about OP's situation and making childish comments as if this is the OP's fault and she's "driving him to drink." What a load of bulls#*t.
