Will your kid make a big deal about "revealing" their college choice?

Ew!

I don’t know why people can’t celebrate their joy? Let the kids have their moment if that’s what they want to do.

This is just as bad as those NJ bed decorating parties

With that said, in April 2020 my senior kicked the rest of us out of the kitchen for a few hours and baked a cake in his school colors to reveal to us which school he was going to attend. Absolutely one of my favorite days of quarantine.

This is sweet and nothing like the ridiculousness being defended in this thread. I like your kid.

+1
This is fun and just for the family! Especially during quarantine.

Ha ha! My kid's room is NOWHERE near neat enough for that! Maybe this will inspire her to clean it.

Is there a video of the entire over-the-top, carefully orchestrated proposal? A mom of someone at my kid's big state U posted that on the FB page for parents. Ick.

Sharing a photo of your two beaming, recently engaged people, of a sonogram picture with "due April 15!!!!," of your kid in chosen-college T-shirt with a big cheesy grin is all fine. I want to hear about important events and milestone. But my threshold for milestone is not "got another acceptance" or "my daughter is now pre-engaged"

I agree. This was a sweet moment for the family, not a "like" generating social media endeavor.

Thankful that I do not have an Instagram Ho' Daughter or yikes Son. Who would even post this stuff unless you are required to do it as a scholarship athlete.
