| Someone is hell bent on continuing to bring up the fact that Walney Estates gets to stay at Chantilly. I wonder if it’s an RIO mommy that wants the focus off of how Crossfield got to stay at Oakton. Talk about being nowhere near the school! Let’s talk about Crossfield, shall we? |
Why would someone want the focus off their school if they get the outcome they want? |
| Skyview has Japanese because fox Mill parents enrolled their kids there and asked for Japanese for the kids. We have been emailing the school board and attending all the Skyview meetings asking for Japanese. It didn’t come out of no where. |
Walney Estates is going to Westfield. Walney Oaks bribed someone at FCPS to get switched after the consultants suggested moving them multiple times. |
Actually, I think you mean Walney Oaks. Pretty sure Walney Estates is, at least in the last two scenarios, going to Westfield. It is directly across Walney from Walney Oaks. In fact, they both exit onto Walney Rd. Could get on the same bus easily. |
I think everyone except the people who actually live in Walney Oaks, and Reid, think its fair and reasonable to move that area to Westfield. Does anyone disagree with that? |
I think French, Spanish and Japanese make total sense to offer at Skyview. |
In complaining that "someone" keeps bringing it up, this poster inspired us to discuss, once again, that WO should be moved to Westfield.
They don't "Get to Stay" at Chantilly. They were suggested to be moved by multiple consultants multiple times, and keep managing to finagle their way back to Chantilly. Mysteriously. Somehow. |
| It makes no sense to create a split feeder at Brookfield and only send that one small area of Chantilly Mews to Westfield and everyone else to Chantilly. Walney Oaks and other nearby areas should absolutely be moved to Westfield also. It should be a 50/50 split. |
So Crossfield must have bribed someone as well. They are within 3 miles of Skyview and yet aren’t zoned there. Why is Walney Oaks getting all this hate for basically doing the same thing RIO did? Truly baffling. |
Oh please. That is getting to stay. They have always been at Chantilly so why would they want to be moved? They aren’t far from Chantilly. Now Crossfield on the other hand is far from Oakton. How come Crossfield gets to stay at Oakton and not go to their neighborhood school which is Skyview? |
Because Chantilly is crowded and Westfield needs some more kids. And, it makes no sense to send Chantilly Mews which is much, much closer to Chantilly and has "always gone" to Chantilly. |
Because they are closer to Westfield than Chantilly, Westfield desperately needs more students, and they are clearly pulling political strings. Skyview has plenty of willling students. |
| Meren when you read this let me share with you something that may help answer one of your points. If the school board wanted true pyramids they would have encouraged the adjustments at all three levels , elementary, middle and high school. To your point at the last meeting. You want to ask is there an assigned middle school but don’t want the superintendent to make true changes. This will be another messed up boundary because they won’t allow the professionals the freedom to work properly. Too many people just trying to fight for what they want rather than the greater good. |
| That was such a dumb question. FCPS doesn't do "true pyramids" because the capacity doesn't line up. She is a moron. |
