Uh, the problem is that the bill would be veto-proof. That would end the Republican party (in both senses of the word). Basically, McConnell knows the Republican party (in both senses of the word) are over and he's delaying the moment as long as possible. |

I am old enough to remember when President Trump said he would be proud to close the government until he got what he wanted.
That is NOT the Dems fault, that is on Trump. I am also old enough to remember when the Democrat controlled House passed a number of bills that were verbatim to unanimous votes in the Senate to keep the government open. That is on the GOP and McConnnell, not the dems. So please explain exactly how anyone arrives at 'this shutdown is the dems fault" - and please do not cite Fox News. They are not your friend in this discussion because actual facts matter. |

Crickets..... She’s never had to negotiate, as the Republicans always caved. Trump is not giving in. Nancy needs to accept this fact and do something. She can’t just moan about Trump not opening the gov. Does she know how to negotiate? |

No, he shielding Trump from having to stand alone. He doesn't care about the wall or DACA, or he would have done something about it two years ago. For the same reason, Trump just wants a "win" over Democrats, because he could have had this shutdown when his own party controlled the House. Except he didn't have the votes then, and he doesn't have it now. |
