Can someone please explain to me the concerted effort to pin this on McConnell (who I have no love for)? I don't get it. This is clearly a spat between Trump and house democrats.
McConnell should have brought the House bills to the Senate floor and see where it goes. To not even bring them to a vote is an abdication of duty.
I assume you also feel that Pelosi has an obligation to allow Trump's proposal to come to a vote in the House?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyeJ55o3El0
McConnell isn’t going to waste time having a vote for a bill he knows the President will veto. That bill MUST contain funding for the Wall. And I agree, Nancy should let the House vote on bill with DACA amnesty that Trump just offered. She doesn’t know how to negotiate.
No, he shielding Trump from having to stand alone. He doesn't care about the wall or DACA, or he would have done something about it two years ago. For the same reason, Trump just wants a "win" over Democrats, because he could have had this shutdown when his own party controlled the House. Except he didn't have the votes then, and he doesn't have it now.
