Discrimination against Asians

Yes, we will fight racism with more racism!

First they called it quotas. They said that was illegal, so had to change it to affirmative action. That was divisive, so they changed it to diversity. You have to give them credit for brainwashing the woke crowd into believing that they aren't discriminating against people based on race.

they don’t work any harder than anyone else. The Japanese received reparations that the slaves and descendants of slaves haven’t. The Asians have the privilege of knowing and being able to go back to their homeland. They have the privilege of not being murdered in the streets of the United States by race soldiers with impunity. They have the privilege of not being completely sabotaged. I could go on but it would be too long a post.

Oh, yeah, I see. Critical race theory only applies to blacks.
Stop haranguing us white peeps, go plant your BLM, Love is love signs and whatever else you libs do in your free time.

BLM supporters didn’t start this topic nor do I even see the topic until you brought it up. There is a lot talk of Asian superiority over Blacks and hispanics, even to the extent one of the posters believes the spots in AAP occupied by students belonging to these groups which are underrepresented in the program should be occupied by Asian students. After all, white and Asian kids are superior to Black and hispanic students.

White people are funny. Always putting themselves in the middle of problems they created and pretending to be the hero. Tell me, how many white people in history have moved to a non-white country where they didn't know the language and had very little money, were discriminated against and made fun of, and were able to build entire communities of successful families and improved the greater community around them through paying taxes and making schools better? I only hear white oppressors in places like Zimbabwe and South Africa, who didn't struggle, complaining when their privilege rightly gets taken from them. And this is coming soon to an American city near you if it hasn't started happening already.

Lots of white people moved to what is now the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand - some voluntarily, others forcibly, most with very little money. AA's were forced to come to what is now the USA. Pre indoor plumbing, electricity, gas heat, roads. Machine powered ships.

The TJ concept was started during the magnet school inception era- use of capacity and presenting voluntary programs to get people into buildings. Check out the history of Bailey's and Hunters Woods plus other legacies of traditional local racism like the West Potomac/Mount Vernon and Sandburg/Whitman boundaries. VA programs for gifted include regs on nationally normed tests. TJ removes an entire building from inventory so it's real cost includes all additional capacity built and costs of boundary changes that never would have happened if it had reverted to a base school with an academy.

There are nuances to Sec of Ed Qarni 's endeavors. NOVA has had a massive infusion of FARMS and ELs in the Hispanic demographic. A good number of which came to FCPS with limited or interrupted formal education. This is not a stable ex-Cuban, Puerto Rican population. https://bluevirginia.us/2020/11/virginia-secretary-of-education-atif-qarni-to-hold-panel-discussion-on-combatting-racism-and-increased-school-segregation

"Many diasporas, like the Asian community which I belong to, deal with issues of colorism, classism, casteism, and other isms. I have decided to host this panel to address this very important issue and learn from the experts on how members of the Asian community can become allies in this important effort taking place across the Commonwealth of Virginia."

Black people are the indigenous people of America. Not all Blacks arrived on slave ships. That’s a lie that is being told to hide the theft of land from these people. This is documented.

No. Native Americans are the indigenous people of the land of America. Blacks/African Americans and "white" Europeans are the indigenous people to the sovereign nation of the United States of America. Frankly, why we tolerate any other groups in these equality discussions is beyond me. Those aforementioned three groups have a lot to discuss in this country, everyone else should have to operate in the system that those groups ( Native Americans, White, and African Americans) work out.

NP but really interesting thoughts here.
So you must be quite horrified about Kamala Harris becoming VP?

What is so horrifying about a woman with immigrant heritage being part of the administration. She identifies with the immigrants and it’s a win for them.

https://www.nationalgeographic.com/history/2020/09/asian-american-racism-covid/

The article touches on the history of it.

Asians weren’t allowed to be naturalized American citizens until the 1940’s, and even their children couldn’t be born as US citizens until Wong Kim Ark v. United States.

Besides being unable to vote, never being allowed citizenship had serious repercussions, which I will highlight with the Expatriation Act of 1907.

The Expatriation Act revoked citizenship rights from women who married non-citizens. I’m not kidding. Marrying an Asian would get your citizenship revoked.

The Cable Act of September 22, 1922 repealed the Expatriation Act, with one major exception: female American citizens who married non-citizens of Asian descent could still be stripped of their citizenship.

There were many other laws that trampled on Asian Americans. Asian Americans have and still get discriminated against. You just aren’t aware of it or choose to dismiss it.

Maybe one day it will be taught in school just like elements of African American history.

She’s always claimed Indian, until she ran for president. Seems more beneficial to black politically, but if you search her history she hasn’t claimed being black. It’s been Jamaican and Indian, never black. If you know about Jamaicans, you know there are many racial classifications there.

The story follows the love life of a young Hindu woman and at one point, depicts her being kissed by a Muslim man at a Hindu temple.

You can’t make this racism up. It permeates Indian culture.

We FEEL offended and all these white people posts are micro agressions to us minorities.

+1. White people are very clever in forcing other races to take the punishment for the atrocities committed by their white ancestors
