The native american man actually diffused the conflict between the boys and the hate group.
Look at how they were behaving at Lincoln Memorial: that is unacceptable behavior. I hope their parents all ground them for behaving like idiots. The native american came in with the drum to break the tension and he succeeded. The only problem is, these are not nice kids and they were riled up and acting like a mob. They surrounded him and acted like jerks. To continue how they had already been going around acting like jerks. Hate groups are awful, but these kids should know how to behave in public, or they should be kept home in kentucky. |
Yup. Back in the good old days, you got twice as bad at home for acting the fool as you got from the public. Bet these Covington punks got a lot of participation trophies, and think they're special. Don't have to respect their elders. |

This is the situation that the chaperones ignored, encouraged, or just weren't around to stop. https://twitter.com/riotwomennn/status/1087484002863325185
Those kids were acting like it was a pep rally in their gym, not a national monument and the "opposing team" was five men. 5 men shouting vile, crazy things, but just 5 men. The family has screwed up their PR so bad - they should have thanked Phillips, apologized for how the video looked. The situation would have gone away. They made the mistake of not realizing that there would be a ton of videos showing that the kids were misbehaving all day. Seriously, I don't know any parent who would be okay with their kid behaving this way in public at a national monument. |

Chris Hayes:
"The most vital privilege in American life is due process, second chances and the grace to have your actions read charitably. I understand why people will fight like hell to preserve it, but probably worth thinking about all the people who do not have those privileges at all." That's a pretty good insight. The aggrieved conservatives are mad because the liberals are not giving these kids the benefit of the doubt, feel like they're unfairly targeting the kids because of anti-conservative prejudice. The aggrieved liberals feel like middle class white people get way too many breaks already and that conservatives are hypocritically asking for consideration they wouldn't give less privileged groups. |
Valid concerns, too. You never know when the next leftist whackaloon like James Hodgekinson is going to pop up and start shooting people. This school is the biggest target for liberal violence in the country right now |
Your parents failed at parenting then |
You're a very hateful person. |
DP. Nope. My parents raised me to be a decent human being. |

Honestly, if any lawsuit is filed, it should be the family of the kid filing a lawsuit against the school, the diocese and naming the chaperones for inadequate supervision that led to this national situation where his jerkiness has been captured and will be replayed for years.
Don't worry about parental responsibility. |
| NBC reports that schools in the area of Covington Catholic are all closed due to frigid temperatures. |
DP. But he is not. Wasn't this the case when America was great? Did punks in the 50s behave like that with no consequences from their parents? Please |
Nope. You seem to be quite prejudiced and hateful. |
Others schools might be closed because of the weather. Covington is closed because they're worried about some crazed liberal trying to murder their students. |
NBC lies.

NYT gives us more insight into this school and community, including the disturbing detail that Covington Catholic alters The Pledge of Allegiance students recite every day. How many privileged white males does this school indoctrinate every year?
