It’s unfortunate that the Regions are so lopsided that Battlefield has an easy path to the state finals annually. Organizers need to mix up which Regions play which Regions for the state title. The logistics and travel times most likely prevent this from happening. So like years in the past the real State Champion match is the state semi-final with the dominant northern regions.

Yes Battlefield could say the same about what they have to go through in football basketball and hockey. You FX people are full of yourselves.

The issue is that it used to be different in 2019. VHSL went to a worse scenario. Just go back to what it was. Current scenario is more discriminatory against the more diverse NOVA schools in favor of the outstate country club less diverse teams like Battlefield (speaking as a general concept, not calling out any specific team). Could be a real interesting lawsuit vs VHSL.

Why wouldn't VHSL cross bracket for girls lacrosse?

Not sure why this change was made... I can remember up to around 2017 it being the "better way" where Fairfax teams would always meet in the state finals.

Oakton is over-rated, and they cannot just pick their poison to who does the scoring. We all know its basically 2 kids with goals here and there by others. Guess we will see what happens in regionals.

Let’s see, Oakton scored 17 goals against Centerville last night and I believe (although I didn’t keep count) the top two (JMU and URI) had roughly 8 of those. That means other players contributed about the same amount, which was about as much as the entire Wildcat team.

Oakton is underrated and one of the best teams we have seen in the past 20 years. They will go undefeated easily until they meet battlefield in one for the ages that will be talked about for decades!

Disagree with this. Oakton rival here, so I wish it wasn't true, but they are a complete team.

I have seen Visi play this year. I saw Potomac, who just beat Visi, play. I have seen Madison, Robinson, Centerville. Oakton is better than all of them. Anything can happen in playoffs, and they aren't invincible, of course, but the two continuous troll themes on this board, saying that--(1) Oakton is the best ever, and (2) Oakton only has 2 players and are vulnerable--are both wrong.

A sober, informed, assessment says: Oakton is 12-0, has both stars and supporting cast, is the favorite in VHSL 6A GLax going into the postseason, and they will be tested in regionals.

Wow- pp with oakton is one of the best teams we have seen in 20 years. That’s a joke of a statement and you are so full of yourself. You have one good season so far and you think oakton is gods gift to nova glax. Yes oakton is a good team this one year, but you don’t see any of the previous state champs bragging on this board like that.
O wait, I take that back—battlefield. But at least they didn’t say they were one of the best in the past 20 years. Watch what happens to oakton next year….
