DH lost Credit card roulette...

Anonymous
So we were out with the rest of the neighborhood moms and dads last night and played a game of credit card roulette

My husband unfortunately was picked and could not pay because he apparently is $4,500 over the credit limit

I was embarrassed, I was mortified and I don't know if I can show my face after he told me to my face during dinner after his card got declined.

What should I do? I had no idea this was a thing and keeping financial information from me is a huge red flag.

WTH?

Sigh. None of us can tell you what to do. This is your marriage and we know nothing about it other than the fact that you learned about some debt you didn't know about in an embarrassing way when out to dinner. Which isn't even believable. It isn't like he wouldn't know the cc was that far over the limit.

Well first things first you need to review all your finances together. Obviously he doesn't know the credit card balances and that's a problem. Did he not have another card he could use? Does he not have a debit card with enough money on it to cover the bill?

Being $4500 over the balance isn't an "oops". That's a pretty big deal.

I have no idea what this game is?
However, I’d be horrified too. I’d want to see credit card statements and a soft pull on the credit report.

Credit card roulette was suggested by whom to pay for the whole check? Never had to play this stupid game because we split the check or take turns when eating with friends.

What is credit card roulette? And why is your bigger problem embarrassment rather that financial?

Everyone puts a credit or debit card out and the waiter picks one to pay the whole check.

Weird. Who does this. Most people don't have the money for these ridiculous games. And OP is probably spending the money that is on that credit card.

That is absurd.

WTF?! WHO does that?!

How much was the bill?

*I think this post is fake bc OP would have said the amount.*

What a stupid post. If it’s real.

Wait the bill was $4,000 or he was already that far over the limit? Which means he must have run up a credit card bill that was significantly larger? How does someone actually rack up that much over the credit limit in the first place, wouldn't it have been declined ages ago?

How much was the tab?

Why would he play along with this stupid game if he knew he's already 4500 over the limit?

Do you have a credit card? Did you end up paying for the meal?
