Places to Sign Recall Petitions - Tholen/Omeish/Cohen

I hope the open FCPS people will stop pushing their stupid recall efforts now that yet another one was dismissed. Disagreeing with their votes doesn’t meet the VA standard for recall. I don’t know how they could file such frivolous actions and wish they would be forced to pay attorney feeds. These were such baseless actions that wasted taxpayer money.

Come back after FCPS has recouped the money that it spent for Ibram Kendi's speech and for paying a Chief Equity Officer who contributed little and left after only a year.

Or the hundreds of thousands spent on consultants for boundary policy and other management areas as if they don’t have an in house office of research as well as a facilities department with professionals in the field.

They love to waste money.

To be honest, Jeff Platenberg isn't much of an esteemed professional, and his educational credentials (public administration and human resources) don't exactly make him an expert in the field. He's there because of tenure and loyalty to FCPS. At least the MGT consultants had PhDs with some relevant research and real experience in the classroom.

Exactly. Is it the same imbecile whining about "frivolity" when all we've seen from this SB are frivolous and idiotic actions? Probably also the same person saying Gov. Youngkin should be "recalled" - because she disagrees with him. Zero self-awareness, as usual.

If they are going to hire consultants to do the work of existing staff/departments then they should eliminate those departments /staff.

Wasting money.

But the money spent on the consultants is still wasted because boundary policy is in fact determined by where the School Board allows Platenberg to spend money on classroom seats, with next to no oversight, and not by what a third-party consultant opines ought to be the key considerations when adjusting school boundaries.

Platenberg is incompetent.

Platenberg is incompetent.

But the School Board is even worse for allowing him to remain in a senior FCPS role when his incompetence was so obvious.

For those who have not had the pleasure of working with platenberg, imagine a person who knowingly cuts corners, fails to check assumptions of those who work for him, and always says 'yes' to the superintendent or SB. Someone who has totally forgotten that his customers are the kids and by extension their parents, and feels no obligation to be either be responsive or even present for discussions (even if he is physically at a meeting). Someone who has made a career of shrinking from controversy only to try and pull strings from the cheap-seats, where he feels safe. Classic case of a government worker who, if he worked in private industry, would be fired with prejudice.

Yet another loser campaign by open Fcps. These people are fools.

They may be losing some battles, as when the conflicted prosecutors drop recall petitions, but they are winning the war. The current School Board has lost all semblance of legitimacy, regardless of whether they aren't unseated until next year.

I’m so glad that FCPS is so unfailingly competent that they overhauled TJ admissions and then got slapped down by the courts for their blatant racism.

Such a better use of time than the reopening of schools.

Seriously. They wasted sooooo much time and money on this when they could have spent that time coming up with ways to open the schools! And what they did ended up being illegal.

They waste their time and our money, to the detriment of students. Vote every last one of them out.
