Well teachers were told to send students down to the office who don’t wear a mask and let admin deal with it.

Two teachers here, both ES. We haven’t heard anything from our administrators. We’ve only received the county-wide emails to say masks are still required.

There will be more communication sent soon, FCPS slides were released on Twitter which explains what we should do. So keep posted.

Vaccines are not available for those under 5.

DH and DS were at an hour long appointment with a therapist. All masked. Two days later we get a call that therapist tested positive. DH and DS never show any symptoms. Thank goodness for masks. They should keep the mask mandate until cases are much, much lower and a vaccine is available for those under 5.

There's a big difference between wearing a mask at a 1 hour therapist appointment and for 8 hours in school. Your post is irrelevant.

Masking is not preventing spread in school. Unmask them now. Here's hoping Youngkin drops the mandate, drops quarentining the healthy, and prohibits schools from establishing mask and vaccine mandates.

Remember....you can still vaccinate and mask....its just no mandated!

I will not work 1:1 or otherwise in close proximity to an unmasked student. I will not tie their shoe. I will not open their milk. If you want people to work closely with your child, they need to be masked. We have our own family members to protect, too.

I think they’re talking about the woman that said she would bring all her guns loaded to school to fight the mask mandate. the police already visited her and she’s on bail and apologized and said it was a miscommunication.

It feels like Youngkin is gas-lighting all of us.

He ceremoniously removes mask mandates in the middle of the highest covid soread we've seen to date. Naturally, teachers, parents, administrators go to a level 10 in worry. Then he says "but follow your principal until the courts work thus drama out."

In the meantime, Youngkin followers are threatening school boards and kids are challenging teachers...parents and kids who are worried about virus spread are nervous about sending kids to school. Everyone is emotionally fried.

And by the time the courts rule, the surge will be subsiding. The Youngkin followers will say " see, madks weren't a big deal." And everyone hates everyone a little more.

Gas-lighting accomplished.

+1, Go back to your email from Friday where he explains that it’s gonna be a dress code violation and consider attending the Townhall on Monday night.

Using the term gas-lighting is projection. You do it, then accuse the other side of having done it. Everyone, more and more, can see what you are doing. It will boomerang on that whim tosses it.

Yup. Next term to watch for is mass psychosis. After instituting the conditions, will then claim conditions set by others. Watch.

Gas lighting is telling people what they see isn't actually happening (i.e. pandemic surge isn't happening) and then using delays for the issue to subside and then tell them that it was nothing all along.

IT IS A THING RIGHT NOW (contagious disease spreading rapidly). But they are trying to tell us it's not. That's gaslighting.

Some teachers actually believe vaccines work.

Covid panic is over.

Many do, but they still need to enforce the rules regarding mitigation strategies.

My infant isn’t protected by the vaccine, so I actually rely on people around me to not behave like idiots to keep her safe. You know, like public health. During an ongoing pandemic that has killed 860,000 Americans. What a fool I must be!

Unless your baby has a serious health condition, she is not at risk for covid.

You need to be concerned about RSV, Whooping cough, rhotavirus, and definitely get those MMR vaccines.

But if we know anything about coid after these past two years is that the risk is almost exclusively with the very old (75 & up), the obese, and those already suffering from serious terminal illnesses. Your baby is almost certainly safe from this and will be in no more discomfort from covid than when she is cutting her first teeth.
