I think Monday the 24th will be an interesting day. FCPS and some other NOVA school districts are defiant, and Younking is promising to “use all resources available to him” so parents are “heard”. Well, tomorrow is the “due date” … we shall see..

PP here, yes I know tomorrow Monday is a teacher work day… nonetheless I think it will be an interesting “week”. A few teachers I know told me that they will rearrange seats so students who are not wearing a mask will seat in the back and masked students in the front. Don’t yell at me, I’m just the messenger.

Well teachers were told to send students down to the office who don’t wear a mask and let admin deal with it.

Youngkin has since told people they should follow school principals’ guidance while the issue is working it’s way through the court, so mask mandates are still fully enforceable.

Two teachers here, both ES. We haven’t heard anything from our administrators. We’ve only received the county-wide emails to say masks are still required.

Does that potentially put the teacher at risk of being in violation of the EO that states: A child whose parent has elected that he or she is not subject to a mask mandate should not be required to wear a mask under any policy implemented by a teacher, school, school district, the Department of Education, or any other state authority.

It seems to me the teacher is out between a rock (1303 and FCPS policy) and a hard place (the EO).

Let the teachers teach.

Covid panic is over.

Also, tomorrow is a school day in Loudoun so you will get a sneak peak.

Nope, because until the courts decide otherwise, prior VA law holds (which is FCPS policy) not the EO. The EO is representing a change in policy so if it is challenged it is not effective until the courts decide on it.

So the teachers will go along with a strategy that exposes the lower-paid front-office staff to all the supposed vectors of disease? Maybe all the front-office staffs should stage walk-outs until Brabrand comes up with a better strategy.

Anyway, Brabrand doesn’t give a crap about anyone’s health, as he’s paid virtually zero attention for over four years to seriously overcrowded schools and just let Platenberg shovel money into the pockets of contractors to build additions at schools that didn’t need them the most.
