Waisians on campus

DC is waisian and seems to have made a lot of waisian friends, way more than in HS. Do your waisian kids bunch together in college or mix more with the Asians? or is their friend group more mixed?

Waisian? White + Asian?

NP. I’ve only ever seen it here, for the first time sometime in the last several months.

LOL - I first heard it from TJ kids 10+ years ago.

More common to use this phrase on the west coast.

My Wasian DD has definitely found several other Wasian friends at her California university, which she mostly lacked in high school. It’s great.

Interesting. Mine too - way more than HS.

I personally think it’s great. Mixed race people tend to have unique issues and concerns and it’s great that they have each other to talk to and feel a sense of belonging.

Just read it for the first time here. Also heard Blasian here too, and thought it was racist.

It's a terrible portmanteau. I mean it actually has the full word asian in it.

Why not aishite? Or asiack
