er.. Caucasian means white in the US. That's the commonly understood term use.

Not Caucasian, Cauasian. No letter c.

This is the most idiotic post ever.

Hapa is the non offenive, correct term, used by actual biracial asians with white and asian heritage.

Hapa has been the common and culturally sensitive term for at least 50 to 60 years or more.

+1 I am hapa and live in Hawaii. There is zero negative connotation to “hapa.”

Excuse me? Wasian? As a mother of two children you would describe as wasian, how about you not?

West coast calls it hapa. I first heard "Whasian" from my kids who went to MCPS. They are whasian.

CA calls it hapa, Pacific NW here and we called it mixed. No one I know between San Diego and Vancouver calls us Wasian. Fascinated that it’s a thing.

Wasian is not a thing, except among the white liberals of DC who need to give everyone a made up name for their perceived grouping.

White liberal from DC here. Married to asian spouse. Have children. This term is borderline offensive and beyond cringe-worthy. I want to go back to the person I was twenty minutes ago before I learned that some people are idiotic enough to use this term.

You people sound like my boomer dad. Language evolves. Get over it.

Full Asian here married to full white person. Our kids call themselves wasians but it's not like they go around introducing themselves as such. I don't find it offensive in the least.

I'm a parent of mixed East Asian/White children in Southern California. My kids and their friends use the term Wasian. We have a number of Black/Asian friends, and they use the term Blasian. I think we used the term Hapa a decade or two ago. I don't find any of these terms offensive.

I don’t think it’s an offensive word at all. It’s simply a word that young people use to describe themselves in terms of race.
I expect to see more words like this in the future, as the world becomes increasingly diverse.

Sometimes new words can be taken the wrong way.

I used the word rizz the other day and my daughter threw up.
