er.. Caucasian means white in the US. That's the commonly understood term use. |
Not Caucasian, Cauasian. No letter c. |
+1 I am hapa and live in Hawaii. There is zero negative connotation to “hapa.” |
That's kind of cute, pp. |
Hawaii people now post here??? |
| Whaaaat? First time I've ever heard this. |
Excuse me? Wasian? As a mother of two children you would describe as wasian, how about you not? |
WGAF |
| What is a Waisian? |
White liberal from DC here. Married to asian spouse. Have children. This term is borderline offensive and beyond cringe-worthy. I want to go back to the person I was twenty minutes ago before I learned that some people are idiotic enough to use this term. |
| You people sound like my boomer dad. Language evolves. Get over it. |
| Full Asian here married to full white person. Our kids call themselves wasians but it's not like they go around introducing themselves as such. I don't find it offensive in the least. |
| I'm a parent of mixed East Asian/White children in Southern California. My kids and their friends use the term Wasian. We have a number of Black/Asian friends, and they use the term Blasian. I think we used the term Hapa a decade or two ago. I don't find any of these terms offensive. |
+1 I don’t think it’s an offensive word at all. It’s simply a word that young people use to describe themselves in terms of race. I expect to see more words like this in the future, as the world becomes increasingly diverse. |
Sometimes new words can be taken the wrong way. I used the word rizz the other day and my daughter threw up. |
